Whoo~! This was tough but rewarding. *_*; Sorry if I made any mistakes; I proofread it a few times, but I was trying to do it as quickly was possible while still being very careful (plus dyslexia-overtime, ya know ( ... )

Germany-mochi (Make him win for him.)
I think "Germany-mochi (lets him win)" would be a bit clearer here.
(Hmm... And perhaps a better translation of the question would be "What on earth would Italy-mochi be able to win against?")

Also, would it be a bit better to translate "tankoubon" as "volume" instead of "special book"? Since he's referring to volume 5...

Otherwise, it looks good!

I don't know; it seemed like he was saying that he couldn't win without him. Maybe, "Germany-mochi (wins for him)." It's really strange grammar there that there isn't a real equivalent to.

Ohh, I didn't even know that there was a volume 5! Yeah, that would be much better, thanks. I thought he meant some kind of different side-story book, since no one actually said "volume 5," and Himaruya and the people he responds to usually refer to them by numbers when they're volumes.

Ohhh, I see what you were going for there. I'll admit that it's been ages since I learned the passive voice in Japanese class, and I haven't come across that particular structure since then... but from what I remember (and what excite translate tells me XD), it does seem to mean "let win against." And since the question is asking "what," not "how," in the first place...

Well, I suppose it hasn't been said that it's going to be a volume 5 as opposed to something different, come to think about it... but there's nothing to suggest it will be anything different from the usual, either. So perhaps just keep it vague, because all we know is that it's a compiled volume of SOMETHING. XD

Yeah, I come across it a lot just reading random blogs and such, so I'm used to it. If you try to translate it word-for-word, it'll drive ya nuts. xD

It's probably best to just leave it vague so no one thinks there's a definite volume 5.

(I hope I'm not being too pushy. >.<;)

No no no! Heck, I worry that I'M being too pushy! (Constantly having my translations questioned at Bulbapedia just because they're not the same as other fan sites' gave me the unfortunate tendency to get set off by the tiniest things... @_@)

...and of course I follow that up with this: I asked a friend who knows more Japanese than me and she confirmed that it's "Germany-mochi lets him win." *hides*

You're not! I always like to have someone (or multiple someones) check my stuff. Bulba... what? *sigh* That's why I don't go near any other fandoms but Hetalia. No one's going to flip out over others' translations here.

You don't need to hide! Everyone makes mistakes. Unfortunately, a lot also attack others' mistakes instead of just, you know, correcting them. It's not who's right that matters; it's that the translation turns out accurate in the end. :D

Bulbapedia, it's a Pokemon wiki. I'm their Japanese translator. There are some great people among my fellow staff members, but the kids who use the site... ugh. For whatever reason, they think all the other fansites can do absolutely no wrong in translation (and of course I don't use other fansites' translations). 9_9

Needless favoritism. *eyeroll* Like they'd even know. *hugs* Well, at least know that I'll never say anything negative if you make mistakes or correct mine!
