...I'm not gonna lie, I love that concept. Of them becoming human for one day every hundred years. The execution is excellent as well, even if you meant it to b America/England. Russia did feel like a better choice, to me and god I'd love to explore this with another pairing but I'm bad, bad, bad at stealing ideas.

Well played, writer.

Thank you!! <3

Omg, borrow away! I would love to see this with another pairing, or even again with Russia/America in a different situation. Just, y'know, mention me or something if you do.

Human once every 100 years. Now that's a concept that I love to see. Alfred and Ivan were just right for this dream-like story. Liked the part where Alfred took off the leather jacket with 50 emblazoned on it, and put on another jacket instead. It showed that time was standing still, and shouldn't be encumbered by the number of states, because this moment is timeless. And Ivan was friendly and romantic, and kind of sweet, too. Then the 24 hours were up and all went back to normal. Loved this story.

Yes! I was trying for dream-like in this story. Although I might have to disagree with you about time standing still. I wanted to emphasize that time was finally moving for them because as nations, their lives as individuals can't progress, they are essentially frozen in time. But during that one day they can finally start moving again as just human beings. Anyway, that was my interpretation of it. ^^ It's interesting to hear your approach to it.

....but now I wonder did Russia wear his scarf?

My vision of time standing still was the one day they became human again. But then, if they became human obviously they weren't standing still. But for me it denoted an interval opened to them when time stopped for them as nations. That's when time stood still. A moot point open to interpretation.

Ohhhh, okay now it makes sense why time stood still. I was thinking about their lives as human and you were thinking about their lives as nations. I hadn't looked at it that way.
