Francis sat in the back of the auditorium, reclined exaggeratedly with an arm over the back of the chairs to his left and right. To each side sat two cute little numbers whose names Francis failed to remember. Such things were trivial, anyway. They were all the same when it came down to it.

He sighed and stared at the ceiling in boredom whilst playing with the silky brown hair belonging to the girl to his left. When will this guy shut up? Opening ceremonies were always so boring, but this year he was more antsy than usual. Having only just returned from a lovely vacation in Marseilles, he hadn't had time to catch up on fundamental things, such as gossip and harassing Arthur.

Francis did not have to be told twice--as soon as they were dismissed, he was out the door, not even caring enough to see if his new potential toys were with him. There were more important things! Like good wine, hopefully. Beer would be okay, given it wasn't American, but really, wine by far surpassed any type of beer.
Francis didn't make a beeline for the ( ... )

Arthur Kirkland had never been a man to simply enjoy mingling with other people. He preferred the seclusion of his dorm room more than anything else, but he very well knew that he would simply not be allowed to do this. His calculating emerald gaze swept over the students shoved together in the auditorium, their eyes either focusing on the professor in the front, off to the side, or on the ground. The student's hushed whispers all around him began to grate on Arthur's nerves and it was never too difficult to make the Brit snap. He was constantly waiting for an opportunity to let his anger loose, to twist those kid's oh so confident egos until there was nothing more of them. The young seemed to have no respect towards anyone these days, it was truly a shame ( ... )

Francis scanned the developing crowd for a moment before settling his gaze upon the fine ass of a blond a few metres away. He found that he was partial to blonds--but of course, he was blond himself, and anything reminiscent to himself was a turn-on. Naturally, he was interested in those who weren't blond as well, given they were aesthetically pleasing ( ... )

Arthur could already foresee that this next year in Hetalia U would not be as. . . enjoyable as he was hoping for. While he did have his dorm room all to himself for the moment, he could not be certain that this will persist for long. He hoped it did though, but it was a lost hope. Arthur's luck had run too long in the university when it came to dorm rooms, never having to room with any other student. If this was the case, then the British male would never of had the privilege of being considered as one of the most socially inept students in the university. Who was to blame him though? Almost everyone in here were out of their bloody minds, with only a few exceptions hidden amongst the metaphorical lines. His classes were not atrocious, but he did have that horrid American Prose class that Alfred somehow eased him into taking. He did not want to read that pathetic excuse of literature and Arthur was to blame for this as well, he was the one who was much too easily persuaded. He will just have to step up his stinginess later ( ... )

Things weren’t really going well for Raivis so far. He had wanted to sit next to Eduard or Toris at the assembly, but when he had arrived, he couldn’t figure out where they were. Usually, he would be able to send them a text message or even call them, but his phone had died earlier and he was too shy to ask to borrow someone else’s. So the small blonde had just sat off to the side by himself. He always got too nervous if he tried sitting next to someone else. They could be waiting for someone or even someone they know could show up and then they’d end up thinking how annoying Raivis was for taking up a space one of their friends could have used ( ... )

Roderich sighed.

His shout had been drowned out by the noise made by the ever-growing crowd, and he realized that insistent yelling would get him nowhere today (after all, he had already tried for about ten minutes). Instead, Roderich looked over to see a small freshman who seemed to be waiting for the crowd to thin so that he would be able to take some food.

It was refreshing to see another person that did not approve of the barbaric actions of the rowdy food-grabbers. Roderich walked over to the young boy and addressed him.

"Hello there. I have yet to see your face, so I assume you are new to this school. My name is Roderich Edelstein. May I advise that you sit down while waiting for your chance to get food; it will not get less crowded for quite a while."

Raivis watched the crowd shuffle around, grabbing whatever they could. He wasn’t completely foreign to that kind of behavior, but he couldn’t bring himself to be that way. He was raised to simply take what you need and come back for extra after everyone else had gotten a chance. Luckily, he wasn’t especially picky, so as long as there was something left for him, he wouldn’t be upset ( ... )

A meek voice escaped the boy with the brown hair and droopy eyes. Roderich was surprised - usually the freshman were very loud and full of themselves at the opening ceremony.

"It is nice to meet you," responded Roderich, trying not to sound strict. "Don't worry, it is like this every year. I didn't really think that I could take control of the crowd, but it never hurts to try."

Looking down, Roderich realized that Raivis looked hungry. Sympathy filled Roderich's heart; after all, a first year student would never had known that the opening ceremony would be like this.

Reaching into his bag, Roderich pulled out a container. Opening it, he looked at Raivis.

"Would you like half of my sandwich? I brought it in case a situation like this arose. It is grilled cheese, specifically Mahón, Manchego, and Idiazábal, with slow-roasted tomatoes. You are not allergic, are you?"

If Alfred could make some noise here, he would. His foot had been bouncing up and down throughout the entire speech, probably jolting the person next to him and irritating the person in front. He'd heard this once already. The words weren't completely the same, but he wasn't a scrawny little Freshman any longer (had he ever been scrawny? And, come to think of it, had he ever truly been a Freshman?), and he was ready to get this year started. He was ready to be in class. He was ready. He'd study the fuck out of his sessions this semester; he'd cut back on the partying (besides every Thursday, and the one he was planning for right after this dumbass ceremony); he would allow himself just one hangover per month.

And he was rooming with Yong Soo this year. Awesome. The guy was hard not to get along with, even if you got into a rowdy shouting match about 'made in China' tags. He spared barely a sympathetic thought for whoever would be on the rest of their floor. They'd all come in and party with him eventually; he'd see to that ( ... )

"Short attention spri-span," said Al, chewing his inner cheek. Having been on the tips of his toes, searching faces, he didn't see who'd spoken; he looked around for the source of the voice, but all that came into view was a rather annoyed-looking boy. Kid looked kinda young... was he meant to be here? Alfred liked his little hairpin, though. Good taste. Maybe he didn't know that the cross had flipped upside-down.
He grinned in a friendly way, sizing the little guy up. He couldn’t be more than a freshman, could he? Maybe he was one of those whiz kids that got into college way early because they could run around the other students three times without even tripping over a desk.

…Al’s metaphors needed work.

Frickin’ geniuses. He was already figuring out how to ask this dude for study help. Once they became friends, that is, but that wouldn’t take long. He’d have to introduce him to tons of people, and he was looking forward to it-maybe they’d have a class together-oh, he should probably say something.

“You new here?”

Pert sighs and sits somewhere. He doesn’t care where he it was as long nobody bothers him. This new country makes him nervous and what makes him angry was that he is not able to drink here. What kind of country doesn’t allow 18 years old teens to drink? In his country its legal ( ... )

Ivan had chosen a nice, comfy seat nearby the doors to sit in, with strangely no one sitting next to him. He was surprised that he this seat anyway. Normally students would try to get seats close to the door to escape as soon as the yearly speech was over, but oddly enough two boys that were sitting around there had mysteriously stood up and seemed to have left in a rush. How lucky ( ... )
