Characterization and Headcanon

Because keeping in-character is one of the most important bits of fanfic. If you have a question regarding how to write a character or even very specific questions as to how they'd behave in X situation, post them here.

I'm writing a Spain/fem!Austria fic and I'm having trouble deciding on a name for Femstria. Right now I'm using Rodelinde, but I'm not totally sure about it. Any ideas?

If you want a name that is similar to /derived from Austria's existing name, there is a female name Roderica. You can find its description (and alternate spellings) here: http://www.thinkbabynames.com/meaning/0/Roderica If you want a name remiscent of a notable Austrian, you could use Theresa (after the empress Maria Theresa), Pauline (Pauline von Metternich, a patron of art and culture), Romy (Romy Schneider - actress) : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Austrians Among some other names usually used in Austria are: Anna, Lena, Sophie, Julia,... you can find the rest here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_most_popular_given_names#Europe. Names like Elise, Christine, Irene, Susanne, Viktoria,... might be nice, too. I find this site generally helpful when looking for names, ( ... )

ahhh sorry, but is this a human AU? if it's just normal, then human names aren't required.
also, is the fic for the kink meme?

Romance of Countries hadamega_ne November 29 2010, 12:42:20 UTC
What kinds of romantic advice would the following characters give:

Canada, France, Britain, Germany, Italy (N.), Japan.

I have an idea that France would be over the top with his suggestions or strangly vague but I'm not sure what he'd say... I can't think of anything unique to Japan besides making a bento. All the others...draw a blank.

Snowed in.

Canada would say something simple but romantic.

France will say something perverted and yet romantic at the same time.

Iggy would say something about "being and gentelman" and chivalry.

Germany would say to get some manual that Austria writes. (He has one about Italian lovers ^^)

North Italy would tell you: Flirt, woo her, make pasta and then... something -3-

Japan would recomend something aroud the lines of Valentine's day and White day. But'm not sure.

fem!Poland's name? couryielle December 12 2010, 04:22:39 UTC
I asked mom if 'Feliks' had a female equivalent, and she said no, and I can't think of anything except 'Felikja' (read that somewhere, forgot where). I also use Felikja whenever he crossdresses.

So, what could be a possible fem version of Feliks?

Curiously, I found Felicja~ Maybe you can use that one, or any other on the list

Anyone got headcanon about Turkey and Greece and their relationship/dynamics from 1830 to the end of the 20th century?

I enjoy writing China, but his little speech quirk drives me crazy. I'm just not sure if I should use it at all or how to decide when I should use it. Does anyone have advice?

Don't over use the aru! Because it becomes tedious, the same with those with the quirks, like Russia's da, or Korea's da-ze~. Use it in short sentences like "Don't dance on the table, aru!" but if he starts talking non-stop, just use it at the last sentence, to make his speech/monologue serious.
