/hugs and high-fives fellow December 2014 graduate! <3
I know, I hear you - It feels like I've been in school for so long now. You're getting a BFA if I remember right? :'3
I'm actually getting certificated to teach 4th-8th science! (I switched tracks about a year ago). I'll also have a certification to teach kids whose first language isn't English, too. (It's called an ESL certification).
WOOO!! *hugs and high fives!!!* it's going to be so great!!!
and yeah I'm getting my BFA and I'm so excited and so done and aaahhhhhhh lol and you have a good memory!! or else I just mention a it a lot....XD
But that is way cool!!! I always loved science in those grades. You'll be a great teacher! And my sister wanted to get that ESL thing, too, but I don't know if her plans have changed since she talked about it last or not! Do you have to know another language to have it?
I've taken a couple of Spanish courses, but I'm now where able to call myself proficient in it. '^^
Actually (at least for Texas, I guess), teachers with an ESL certification are qualified to make modifications for non-native English speakers in the class room.
However, bilingual certified teachers do have to be very proficient in a second languages, as they have to speak and teach in both that language (whether it's Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, French, ect). and English in the class.
