Well, I'm back now. The wedding/reunion was pretty nice. Lots of relatives I hadn't seen for years; including some I might not see again for a while, and will be worrying about now constantly, seeing as they're moving to a very questionable part of the world for two years. The weekend was so busy though, we hardly had time for relaxing, and just ( Read more... )

...very questionable part of the world? Now I'm curious.
I bet you looked gorgeous, setting notwithstanding. But mother will have taken lots and lots of pictures, I'm sure I'll barely see the end of it next time I visit.

...I hope the injury's not as bad as it's sounding. Lots of cooling would be good, but I guess when you read this it'll be a little late.

The answer is, because pizza is tempting 99% of the time. Avoidance or no.

And sorry for not staying in touch. You know me. I fail at it, basically. I'll update my journal in a minute to bring things up to date.

I don't know about gorgeous, the only interesting thing were my shirt, boots, and jewelry. Other than that I was pretty plain looking, actually.

My aunt and her family are going over to Egypt, for humanitarian activities. It's a questionable part of the world to begin with nowadays, especially for americans, but probably worse now that they elected a radical muslim leader. Apparently they were screwed either way, if not that guy, they would have had a leader from the old regime. I suspect the votes were influenced by those in power.

My arm is doing better now; I had to fold sheets all night, so with the constant rubbing of cloth against my arm, it was a little annoying. (constantly stopped to douse it in cold water, yes) But apparently my upper arm didn't get it too bad, the redness went away after a day. My wrist and part of my hand were worse off, and still have red splotches, but I'm putting aloe on it and it's healing.

(And that's okay, it seems like you're usually running around all over the place anyhow.)

Fair enough. ^^

Oh. Yeah. Egypt, definitely questionable at the moment, as much as I don't follow politics, that sounds very bad. Though I'm not so quick to say anything about the results having been influenced. It's not unprecedented for a people to elect a radical leader after having felt oppressed for a time.

Mmh. So long as it's turning out okay-ish.

(Yeah, sort of.)

Yeah, I don't usually study politics either, unless it directly affects me, and affecting my family is definately affecting me. (And about the voting result thing, sure, it might possibly have been innocent. And then there also exists a thing that goes somewhere along the lines of "if you don't support so-and-so we'll drag your families into the street and kill them". That seems to go on a lot in a few places in the middle east right now ( ... )
