NOW THAT I HANG AT DW MORE I WILL CROSSPOST MORE OFTEN
AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT
People on plurk got to see me flip out in real time but I wanted to try to make it something coherent.
First, I wasn't expecting to enjoy it at all, in fact I was pretty sure I'd get bored and wander off, but
corinthian made REALLY PRETTY ICONS and she likes it a lot and we like similar stuff so I went FINE FINE I WILL READ YOUR STUPID CANON D8!! HILARIOUSLY I've been RPing with PH characters for a while, so I knew some of the characters were great! I was just expecting a completely different focus.
FULL DISCLOSURE: I'D TRIED READING IT BEFORE AND I GAVE UP TWO VOLUMES IN.
This time I WADDLED THROUGH because I was promised awesome things, I think I made it through 4 volumes or so before the story really grabbed me. I loved Break since the beginning and he is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE, I didn't warm up to Oz and Gil until... vol... 12...? Or so and I never warmed up to Jack at all ever. I am also not terribly invested in the plot but this is okay because I love most of the characters (BREEEAK BREEEEEAK)
Alice is hilarious, I love her crazy and honesty and I hope she gets a happy ending, Sharon is amazing too, sob I SHIP HER WITH BREAK. And then Ada, man Ada, it is so hard to get me to actually crack up at manga and she did it. I SUPER SHIP HER WITH VINCENT. THEN THEM BOYS, Vincent is as amazing as I thought he'd be and I love his trauma, SO MUCH TRAUMA LITTLE BOY. And then Elliot!! ELLIOT AND LEO, it really surprised me how much I liked them both, their role in the story also surprised me a lot I wasn't expecting them to be so important. Gil took me ages to like aaages, I mostly like him now but he's still low on my favorites list, same with Oz. I am a little interested in Glen but not super crazy over him.
I also really like Phillip, poor kid and I know in my heart I will one day play Liam somewhere, I just know it, it's one of those meant to be things. I love his relationship with Break because it is based on mutual topping. Gosh Break, he's going into my list of characters I love but could never play. ANYWAY PANDORA HEARTS WAS GOOD. I WOULD READ IT AGAIN
