Anyone else tired of feeling pressured to tip?

I get that the previous statement may sound mean, and make me appear cheap... but let me elaborate.....

A good friend of mine once told me that she always tips at Tim Hortons, because the staff make less than minimum wage. Strange, because I thought that minimum wage is the MINIMUM wage that a company ( Read more... )

Yeah, no. I don't tip people when they haven't done anything (the pizza you picked up). I am a very good tipper if I'm being a bit of a pain in the back end and the server (or whomever) gets it right, is accommodating and doesn't make me feel like I'm greatly inconveniencing them. And although I see the sense in the manicure payment being done prior to the manicure, yeah, no tip.

I know that in the food and bar industry they have a lower minimum wage because of tipping. But I don't know if Tim Horton's is included in that because they aren't really a "tip" kinda place. I know a girl who works there, I'll ask and find out. So I don't mind tipping in restaurant (or bars, when I went). But I wouldn't tip a cashier at the grocery store any more than I'd tip the guy ringing up my pizza.

I HATE when they add the 15% gratuity to my bill. I want to scream. It's my choice.
I don't mind when the machine asks, I just say no he he. I never tip at Hortons.
