David is away... now he is in Toronto, but previous to that he was in Montreal. He left Sunday night and gets home tonight ( Read more... )

My day care lady called me last night to tell me her daughter puked (not at 3am, at 8). I sent Kate anyway.

Normally I would merely advice the parents and they could make that decision... if Danae had only vomited once, I would have done that. However, I wasn't sure after the 2nd episode if it would be one of those things that would continue. Two of my daycare children are... let's just say... challenging (on a good day)... so I closed. I HATE doing it, because I feel bad and know it can make things difficult for the families. However, this is the 2nd time I have closed due to illness in 2 years... and my contract actually states that I could have 5! So I figure that it isn't horrible.

How did your first LONG shift go? How did Kate do at daycare for the full day?

Danae said (and I quote her directly) "My bathroom stinks like puke". Although I appreciated the sales plug at the end of your post, I'm thinking the cloths don't work as great as you have yourself convinced they do no germs = no more vomit stank :P

I KNOW!!! The source of the stench had me in total melt-down mode!!!!! I couldn't find it!!!! I scrubbed that bathroom from the floor to as high as I could reach... I even brought in the chemicals.
Danae claims it still smells, but it doesn't... I keep my nose open trying to detect any stink. Plus I gave her a little talking-to. I mean doesn't she know it isn't cool to tell people that our bathroom smells like puke? UGH!!!

However, the carpet doesn't have a dark spot, and I am pretty sure it doesn't stink :)
