I hate this time of year. My parents are going to Sydney I think to have christmas with my brother and his girlfriend's family. I've been kindly given the option of not having to go. I can imagine the whole season will suck regardless what I choose to do. There is no hope for me having a normal and enjoyable life if I can't get past this

I don't care if you don't like travelling, and I don't care if you've seen Lost in Translation. Tell your parents you're going to Japan and you need to take a friend with you, they'll understand.
