So quick update on the library situation, been a while since I sent anything out but recently Tony and I did an experiment with my new robot, Clyde, we sent him down the library for five minutes while recording and when he came back, the footage that we had... wasn't exactly what we expected. Just... a face? What kind of biological material do you suppose it was made of...? [Ugh, where was he and why was he not there for this? This is HUGE!]

[Yep, your son is all grown up and he's been learning bad words from the neighbourhood kids. Especially Kenzi. Blame the Donna side, it likes bad words.]

It's a big face. It lives in the library and it chased me and Bruce. While running for my life, it didn't occur to me to check the biological material. All I know is it terrified the hell out me. And not because of any real reason, it's a primal thing, I don't even understand why I was so scared.

Because it's a natural reaction to run when being chased, and to be afraid of the unknown.

...You said Tony knew it was hungry, how did he know this?

It's weird though, I never had that problem before.

I don't-- I don't actually know. He just went into a trance when he saw it's face. It didn't happen to me and Bruce when we met it but it happened to Tony. But then he goes a little weird in the library.

Handy, even I get scared and run sometimes, it's fine...

[He leans forward, rubbing his face.] Right, where are you? I'm coming over. I want to see what evidence you've collected.

My room, you know where it is... right? Well, it's B1, got a giant sign saying 'Hand Pad' so it's hard to miss.

[He shrugs and makes sure to move his laptop outside of the blanket fort so he can show the Doctor and maybe feel a tiny be grown up.] I'll set up, should be ready when you get here.

[He finds the place, exactly what Handy had explained, and without so much of a knock, he came in.]

Why is it always a library causing grief? Why not somewhere else, like a garden? Gardens are lovely with flower and colors... Don't ruin my libraries!

[He pulls up a chair, and looks at Handy.] I'm curious to see what you've found.

Because every time we set out to enjoy a place, something has to go wrong?

[It was a rule and sadly, Handy was lacking freedom from that. Even with part Donna in his brain.]

Okay, want to see the footage first? [Dragging the laptop into view, he started up the footage they got and skipped ahead three minuted.] It appears soon.

[The Doctor leans forward, quietly watching and listening intently... So far nothing. Aaaand nothing... and...]

Pause it right there! I want to see frame by frame. [He glances over to Handy for the most fraction of second and back to the screen.]

[handyhandyhand]

[Handy switches files to a downgraded version set to frame by frame and played it for him.] Already considered that... didn't really help. It literally just appears, no trick or anything.

[He bites his lower lip.]

I hate magic.

I do too... [He momentarily forget they were more or less the same person, and he grinned brightly at that notion before absent-mindedly scratching his neck as he watched the video.]

So, you saw this thing in person?

[handyhandyhand]

Yes, face to very big scary face. We less met it and more ran for it. Bruce and I were not overly strong.

[He offers a small shrug. Fear was normal. Fear happened.]

Maybe you'd have better luck? You could try. Might be able to reason with it better than I did. But I should warn you, it's not easy to cope with. Take back up.

I wouldn't go alone.

[He requests Handy to go ahead and replay the video without any pausing this time and he sits there quietly thinking.]

Just... a face? [He was drawn to it, and desperately wanting to know more.]

Is there anything I definitely need to bring with me?

I don't know, it looks like one but there's more to it. It's obvious... it controlled the static.

[Don't ask him how or why, he knows nothing. Not really. He's just trying.]

I'd bring your sonic, your running shoes and someone who can move fast.

So this is the thing that must've been bothering Veronica... [He clicks his tongue in annoyance, given he was determined it was the Wire and when that was disproved, told Veronica it was all in her head. Boy, did he owe her an apology.]

Right, well, I'm off to have a look myself. We'll compare notes afterwards, yeah?
