[Damon, this is how you get yourself killed. But never mind, Buffy's out and on her way because she's pretty sure this is a gag, but on the off chance that it isn't, she would be remiss not to. But in the meantime:]

What makes you so sure it's a vampire?

One word. Fangs.

[ He'll just be standing by the side of the building, texting her. ]

Right. Because everything that has fangs is obviously a vampire.

[so not the case. So now she's on guard for pretty much anything, and it doesn't take her long to wander to the outside of the Rice Building, looking around for this so-called vampire]

Not everything. I mentioned vampire, didn't I? Obviously very much human looking.

[ He sees her then and decides to quit texting, except Stefan won't stop so hold on, Buffy. You'll just have to wait while he has this little argument with his baby bro via text message. :| ]

[little brothers are annoying that way. And Buffy doesn't really have a response for that at first, just circling quietly in front of the Rice Building, and when she doesn't see anything, she texts back]

I don't see anything. Don't waste my time.

Giving up already? Take a walk around the building.

[ He'll vamp speed past her when she does. So much fun to be had here. ]

[and now she's just annoyed, and will give up on the texting because she assumes this Damon person is nearby]

Time to see what the slayer's made of. Stefan's right. Easy isn't always worth it. Where's the fun in pretending to be human while they're in a town full of monsters? Damon watches her from afar, but he manages to speed away in time before she can zero in on him. ]

[she turns at the sound of something speeding past her, and with the rush of sound in her ears, she's immediately on edge.]

Great. I take it you're the other one?

[she has a feeling if you were Rebekah, you wouldn't be playing keep away. So she's assuming you're Elijah. HAVE FUN WITH THAT, DAMON.]

[ Time to stop messing around. He's learning nothing from this. He decides on impulse that he'll feed on her, but he'll skip the part where he snaps her neck or rips her heart out. That would defeat the purpose of this reveal. Obviously, he's not about to be the only vampire in town who the slayer knows about. Because 'the other one'? What's that all about?

Guess he could ask her, but Damon doubts Buffy's going to be much of a conversationalist. He lets his fangs out and charges forward -- so very done with playing at being human right now. ]

[The thing is... Katherine is always watching. She doesn't actually trust the brothers to keep themselves out of trouble. Sure, her focus in the past had been primarily Stefan, but Stefan was actually pretty level-headed these days. It came with the whole "not caring" package. Damon, however, was definitely not stable and as she wandered the campus, in the shadows, she tried to keep her place. The only way to wander the campus was to spend four hours blowdrying her hair straight using the hand dryers in the restrooms in the college. Being Elena was hard work and she didn't want to blow her cover on Damon's ridiculous antics.

Except when she realized that she had no other choice.

Putting her pace running (at a human pace - ugh annoying) she caught up with Damon.]

God, there you are. [Her hand links to the crook of his elbow. Pulling her strength as she tugs on his arm]

You do realize that you being drunk and stupid isn't a good plan, right? [Come on, Damon. Snap out of it.] You can't do this. Not now.

[turns on her heel at the sound of the voices, and when she sees Elena with someone she thinks she might have seen on the network before, insert frowny worried Slayer face]

Elena, what are you doing out here?

[eyes narrow as she assesses Damon]

And who are you?

[Katherine exhales, trying to add that breathy quality to her words. Elena always spoke as if she had to push her words out of herself instead of just saying them.]

I saw his text message and knew he was going to try something stupid. He [Katherine, tugs his elbow once more.] would be Damon and I know him from back home. He does this sort of thing back home too. [She figures that Buffy can fill in the blanks with the whole "vampire danger" part.]

[ He's just staring at Elena, surprised that she's here. His face is all scrunched up in that 'what do you think you're doing' way? No time for any arguments though as Buffy's already spot them.

Damon takes in a deep breath and decides to play along. He can't do this with Elena here. He'll just yell at her later. ]

That's me. Supernatural geek.

I just wanted to see the slayer in action. Was hoping your presence here would immediately attract the vamps. I hear they've nested somewhere within the buildings.

[Katherine keeps close to Damon, her arm linking into his a bit awkwardly.]

I think we're all just a bit tired of being cooped up. Everything gets tensions high and things can escalate quickly. I'll make sure he doesn't cause any more trouble. [Tonight.]
