Yeah, I know a combination of the wrong things could have an adverse reaction on the system.....that's an easy mistake....chemistry. I'm just sorry he didn't know. :o(
Yeah, that is possible. I was also thinking.....if it was sleeping pills....he could have taken some & they weren't working right away so he took a little more & that little bit more was the mistake....or maybe he took something else & forgot he took his normal dosage (I've done that...taken the same pill twice in one day because I forgot I took it earlier) & that was the cause of it.... What a sad mistake to make.....
I once accidentally drank a whole bottle of cough syrup because I was sleepy and kept waking up coughing and taking a dose. I didn't realize how many times I must have done that until the next morning. Especially if he was on something like Ambien that makes you do stuff while sleeping, I could totally see how it would happen. And it sucks.
Cough syrup....YUM! (I can't do that) I've never tried Ambien. Sounds like it's crazy! I know forgetting happens...I've done it too...but not with anything serious....vitamins...antibiotics... :o(
Maybe the person doing the autopsy ccould tell what dosage he took by what was in his bloodstream.....and it wasn't enough to warrant calling it a "suicide"? I dunno....
That's basically it; you hit the nail on the head. The examiner would have known (from the toxicology report, and knowing the way chemicals are absorbed by the body, etc) that whatever combination of meds was in him wasn't taken all at once, but rather in increments. That wouldn't have been the case, had Heath been purposely trying to end his life.
The other thing is, he may have already been on medications that left him disoriented... add that to the sleep deprivation itself (which can really do a number on a person's psyche), and it would have been easy to forget what time or even what day it was, nevermind "how many pills have I taken in how many hours"... It's possible that all he knew was "it's been so many hours and I still can't get my brain to quiet down"...
Doesn't change how much it sucks... but it's some kind of consolation, in a weird way...
