Ghosts: why so cranky?

I was watching Pulse today and it got me thinking, why are ghosts always so angry? If I was a ghost I would try to help out and stuff. Like if you had something in the oven, and it was burning, I'd try to give you feeling that something eeeeerie was happening in the kitchen. Or if a prowler was staring in your windows, I'd definitely make a creepy
