Game'ish...

So how many of you out there like boardgames? How many enjoy getting together with a few or several friends, or another couple, or a couple of couples to spend the evening playing games? Or even just spending some time with your significant other doing something other than sitting down in front of the television to watch some random show not even

ohhh! I do!! However my hubby is lame and only plays when other couples or friends are involved. boo him!

BUT, we just recently played Apples to Apples and that was fun! Good times were had by all that played.

How about outdoor games? Like lawn games..you like playing those???

Oh, and I was so excited cause I thought you were going to have a party and invite all your cool LJ friends to come over and play games and get to know eachother. No? Lame.

Yes! Boo him! Games are a nice break from the norm... if they aren't one's norm already. Though we've been doing game nights with friends each month, and everyone has a great time. I usually try to choose games that people haven't heard of, yet are easy to play so people can learn them quickly, and also be social with the others at their table. And 'Apples to Apples' is always a hit!

Regarding lawn games... well, I play a wicked game of Croquet. Heh... aside from that, I can't say I know of any other lawn games aside from Lawn Darts or Wiffle Ball.

OH! You should try lawn golf. It's fun. The game itself has a lot of different names..but this one it most popular I think.

Another fun game that I learned while working at an elementry school was Rummikub.

I think I might have to mention game night...I've always wanted to do it..but think I should start one up! Let's just hope my friends aren't lame and say no!

Ah, Rummikub... yeah, Maile and her friends really like that game. I want to say that one her friends was even in a club... and that's just scary.

Regarding game night, treat it more like a social gathering. Seriously, we have drinks, snacks, and we also divide folks up into smaller groups to make it easier to talk to one another without getting distracted from the game. Then, in the end, we play one big game. This usually is one of the 'Get Together' games I mentioned, but only because most are so familiar with them, you can just sit down and play. But yeah, people always have a good time. You should do it! :)

Josh and I don't watch tv. We have a bunch of dvd's that we rotate and watch every now and then.

as for board games, we like crainium (sp) It's a fun game to play.
