I've deleted the first 10 responses I had to this trailer...
"everyone wants to be a celeb or a wag - no one learns a trade anymore!"
Well muthafukers, get out of the house and into the world because only a tiny proportion of it knows what the hell a 'wag' or a celebrity is and certainly it's not the desire or goal of many of those who do anyway! The greater majority of the world is learning and practicing trades and living with great spiritual fulfillment and connectivity with beliefs and people around them - my god, could this be more egotistical? "My experience as an educated white man talking from my suburban lounge room = truth of the world. See? I have a buddha statue and grass outside! I'm connected!"
*chuckles* that part of the video actually confused me... I have a feeling it's sort of been badly edited and I hope it sort of makes more sense when it's in context.
It's a sort of mayan calendar code/2012 kind of movie - right up my ally, but not something I expect most people to understand.
I meant to write in that comment that the editing for the trailer doesn't tell you who these people are, or why their opinions actually mean anything, so it's hard to see that point of view.
However, I do think that the themes through the movie look interesting and it's definatley something I'll be watching.
yeah it seems like they are trying to tell two different stories, but it all got messed up in editing. Its not that I can't see the point, it's just that the audience for whom this stuff would be the most applicable is so so small. Suggesting the experience of the people it mentions, as being representative of the human experience all over is just so outrageously misguided. The world is a damn big place. But maybe it does shake out in the full version.
