When you know what's coming, how do you escape? And who will help you?
My first story, be kind!
Set towards the tail end of Season 4 in my head.
Not sure I got the voices right, Radek's seems off at least.

Caldwell
“Colonel Carter
I just thought I‘d inform you that with Midway currently off-line, we are to escort General Ross back on our return trip to Atlantis aboard the Daedulus - he’s going to be reviewing the…command performance…of Colonel Sheppard and Major Lorne. They are to be confined to quarters until we arrive.
Of course, I don’t see any reason they can’t be visited for issues concerning the smooth operation of Atlantis, they are still technically in command.
All gate travel is to be suspended once the current teams in the field have returned. No exceptions.
I’ll see you in 2 weeks.
Caldwell out.”
Rodney
“Sheppard. Just the man I was looking for. Well obviously I was looking for you, or I wouldn‘t be in your room.
I’ve written a new lock down command for the city - however I think it might be vulnerable to those with the ATA gene being able to override the door commands.
This city’s a nightmare to try and lockdown - you’ve got to deal the those who manually open the door, those who have the ATA to command doors open and of course those who occasionally try and blow the doors open with C4 - and don‘t try and blame Lorne! Thanks to you I’m now having to consider people who play spider-man outside the tower as a security risk.
I was actually thinking that having different versions of the lockdown command might be useful. One were the Wraith couldn’t open doors but we could - well that would be enormously useful for tactical retreats. That’s miles down the line though. Need to get this version checked first.
I was hoping when you’re out of your quarters you’d test it for me?”
Radek
“Ah Major, I was hoping to get your opinion on something I'm working on. As you know Rodney developed a remote shut down command for the base shield to allow us to enter the city - even if someone has taken control of the gate room.
I was hoping to run some modifications I have made to this programme past you.
I was considering what was to happen if a hostile force was to take over the city while we were still trapped here - as happened with Mr Woosley and General O’Neil. While they could dial the gate if they manages to get to a jumper, they would have been unable to lower the shield. This new code should allow that - which would have let them to escape and summon re-enforcements.
You military types might like to stay and fight, but some of us would rather run away, or as Rodney is calling it “make a tactical retreat”, and fetch help.
Very useful, don’t you think?”
Teyla
“John, I was wondering if you would like to take this…enforced respite to look over details of some planets I know of that the expedition has not yet visited.
I’ve written down the gate addresses, names, local population characteristics, how receptive they’d be to trade and a few other details you might find interesting. There’s also several which do not have any settlements and may be useful for potential off world bases.
I haven’t ask the control team to put these in the database yet. There seemed little point if you felt they would be of no interest to your people.”
Keller
“So I thought while the two of you were staying on base for a while I’d take a look at your transmitters and the cells around them. There’s almost no chance of any bio-degradation or cell damage, but with such strong signals and the period they’ve been implanted for…well, it never hurts to be careful, does it?.
There…All done. That’s the hardware and a small surrounding tissue sample out. You can put your shirt back on now.
No, you can’t have a lollypop…I don’t care what Carson did.
Rodney’s actually working on a upgraded version of these for all off-world personnel with a much greater range, but those wont be complete for several weeks. I don’t see any reason to put these old ones back in you after I’ve run my tests. I’d only to have to redo it in a fortnight for the upgrades.
Sergeant Trevor Benson
You know it’s actually remarkably hard to be a bad guard.
Being a good guard…easy. Just keep an eye on the target and don’t do anything stupid. Having to actually give him openings, without making it too obvious…harder than I thought.
Maybe I should be little more obvious, the dumb major hasn’t taken advantage of any of the chances he’s had so far…maybe he’s just checking out my ass when I turn around? No…he’s only got eyes for one man.
I really hope he’s not holding back because he doesn’t want to hurt one of his men, after all he watches when we’re in training with Ronan and that-**Thud**
Ronan
“Wow. Those stealth training sessions you’ve been taking from Teyla must really be paying off if you can get the drop on us.”
With that Ronan and the three marines that had caught the two of them on their way to the jumper bay, promptly turned the weapons they were holding round and stunned themselves. All 4 fell to the floor, Ronan was almost smiling.
Chuck
They found the note stuck on the hanger door.
“Colonel
I was thinking that the jumpers would also have to act as life pods in the event the city was attacked, the gate blocked and evacuation required. They should be properly supplied for long term survival. Food, weapons, supplies - that sort of things
I’ve set up jumper 11 with supplies for you to look at as an example of what I mean - let me know your thoughts when you get the chance.
Chuck”
Cater
“Should we go after them, ma’am?”
“No Sergeant. All gate activity is currently suspended. No exceptions”
Shepperd and Lorne.
Many stories were told about them after their escape.
All of them true.
