Holly, your kids and your parenting give me hope that my own potential little creatures will someday end up okay. It's okay to be nerdy! Man! I wish someone had told ME that and dragged me to cons when I was a kid. *jealous* :)

'daw! I wish I had the same. Though I did get my love of Dr. Who and Tolkien from my dad. He was one of those 70's Led Zepplin nerds. He also loved R. Crumb (I don't, but comics is comics). I think it's genetic, at least a little?

I hope it is! I'm a book nerd though - my mother is a hardcore reader (though nothing really literary; just Harlequin romances and some fantasy fiction) and NONE of my sisters really inherited the greed for books I have... I think I outpace my mother now actually. So maybe my kids will get that - I will be handing over the Douglas Adams as soon as they are old enough to get the jokes. And we'll be watching LOTS of BBC. :D

And cons, if I ever make it back to America, or if Australia ever has any interesting ones HERE. :P
