This is random, but it's because I saw your post on dyed_hair about the presoftening...I'm in school right now and saw you mentioned working in a high-end salon when you got out of school. (or sometime after school, I don't remember if it was directly after) I was curious if you have any tips for when I get out of school, and what company the salon was that you worked for - you look fairly "alternative" (I know I sound like a tool, but I can't think of a better word) and I'm worried about finding a job at a decent salon without sacrificing my individuality. (I have pink/purple/orange hair right now, one visible tattoo when I wear capris or skirts, and I plan on being COVERED in tatts as soon as I have the resources) Which is kind of lame. We're in a smaaaaall town right now (40,000) but we're probably going to be moving to something bigger (Kansas City and Austin TX are both contestants right now). Thanks so much for any help/comments. :)

i lived in south florida, and was moving to boca raton. there was a great salon near my townhouse called 'salon duda' and was pretty high end. i mean, it was no salon for paris hilton, but i'd be shampooing someone, and get a 10 or 20 dolla tip! just for a shampoo/massage!!! crazy! anyways. i just went in and they were really cool with my tattoos. just as long as they werent offensive (which they're not) they were ok. there was a dress code, and our shoulders had to be covered (which isnt a big deal) but everything else was ok. and there were 2 people that worked at that salon who were ambassadors from bed head. they would go to bed head classes and train and come home and do some of the funkiest haircuts ive ever seen. i got one!! (which ive been growing out for the last 1 1/2 years) haha. but you definately need to go to a good salon with good products. no hair cuttery!!!! (although they have great health benefits). somewhere that has bed head products is a good place to start. also bumble and bumble. high end products, not ( ... )

Yeah, I figured I'd try and find a TIGI salon. I would LOVE to work at MAC :D Thanks!! The assistant instructor at the school was really snotty and told me I'd probably have a hard time finding a job because of how I look. *eyeroll* (It's a good school, the instructor told me not to listen to her, she's just a bitch) Thanks again :D

tigi === yes!!!! i cant believe teachers are like that. my teacher was cool and said if i finished i'd be great (i stopped going 200 hours away from graduating in fl...then i moved to monana and now i need 2000 hours, so thats 1000 more to go.....and theres not many schools to choose from...and i would have no time to work!!!)
