I don't have any kids, but i know what I would do before that. I'd just finish school because with a kid school would be so hard especially with a young kid (i.e. pre kindergarten) because they need lots of attention and I hate the idea of putting them in daycare and missing all the funny/special/new things they do as they grow up.

Traveling...mmmm I dont like to fly so it wouldn't really be on my radar, but if you can afford to and want to its always an option although its not too bad traveling with kids. Ive traveled with my baby cousins and it wasn't really any big deal. just had to do more kid things when they got older than like 2. but thankfully most places are kid friendly.

SO if you're going to have bb burns you should totally go back to school first if you have the ability. at least get it out of the way and have a degree in something in case you and damon need two incomes at some point you'll be able to get a job doing something you want and not have to deal with retail hopefully :)

i don't have babies, but i guess having a house full of animals can kind of constitute as some kind of responsibility over life.

my top pick of things i want to do is solidify my career, to the point where i can step away for a year and then come back without a problem, that and TRAVEL.

...travel, til you are sick of it, til all you want to do it come home, because for the first few years of the babes life, you will be seeing a lot of home.

I've got one kid. 18 month old boy. My wife and I had him just after our one year mark. He wasn't 100% planned but we were excited to find out we were going to be parents. Since my wife is still active Air Force and we're in southern Georgia (not the best job market) I've been staying home with him till we get a second vehicle or my wife gets off the night shift ( ... )

Well for the first 6 months they recommend breast feeding (either from the source or pre-pumped) which helped with saving cash. Diapers and wipes are also a huge cash sinks. Clothing is a pain in the ass. Within the first year the kid will out grow a lot of whatever clothing you have for it. Also the hospital bill alone was around $1500 - $2000, military covered it thankfully. But then there's other medical things you'll have to be ready for (shots and what not). Frankly, we didn't really create a budget before he was born, hell a few months before he was born we drove down from Alaska to Georgia (4500 miles with a pregnant woman...) If you're planning $5000, that should be a good start.

Oh, for time off after the fact, Dee (wife) got 6 weeks of maternity leave. Which, uh... Is definitely needed to let some... wounds heal...
