You do realize that although they might be worried about losing "us" as customers, more importantly you are telling them that their marketing strategy is working. I have no doubt that the lack of an appropriate number of legs for leg Wednesday is intentional, and that it draws people in, but then they cannot order the cheap legs, so they order something else.

Maybe so, but it's still poor service in the eyes of the customers to not have a particular special EVERY single time we show up there. We even talked to the manager, who informed us that they don't keep that many legs around because they don't sell as much on Wednesdays (which is clearly bullshit, since they are almost always "sold out" of them everytime we show up. So even though it would get people to maybe look at the menu for other items, they can still stand to make some more money by adding a little extra investment to their leg inventory). I counted at least 2 other tables around us the last time we ate in who also seemed unhappy about the lack of legs, so there's some more potential customers leaving ( ... )
