So in the past little while I have read Snuff because I love me some Chuck Palahniuk. Then I read Flowers for Algernon because ozette said it was good. And it made me want to die because it was so sad. I really liked it though. Now I am reading Running With Scissors because longgrift was like "HEY DID YOU HEAR THE SONG TEGAN DID FOR THE GUY WHO DID RUNNING ( Read more... )

Sorry if some are repeats or you've read them.
Book suggestions:

Unabridged Clockwork Orange
Bastard Out of Carolina and the other ones by that author I've liked.
Lolita
Johnny Got His Gun
JD Salinger is good stuff.
Persepolis
The Clean House by Sarah Ruhl is a bunch of her plays which are excellent in my opinion. Eurydice is the piece to read.
Endarkenment by Jeffrey McDaniel is poetry.
Under the Banner of Faith by Jon Kraukauer or whatever. About fundamentalists and how they ruin it for everyone.
Stuff published by Manic D Press. It's offbeat some of it raw-ish, undergroudy stuff. If you just want to go out on a whim.

I've wanted to read Lolita for a while too, so that'll be good.

The Realm Of Possibility by David Levithan is my favorite book, so I think everyone should read it. :]

I loved Running With Scissors, too. Don't see the movie, though. It was pretty bad. Just because I can't think of anything else right now, and because you liked that book, I'm suggesting you read two of Augusten Burrows's other books: Dry, and A Wolf at the Table. A Wolf at the Table was amazing. Oh, if you've ever seen the movie Thank You for Smoking and liked that, the author of the book wrote another book called Boomsday. If you like pop art, the cover will catch your eye; that's how I picked it up. I dunno, you may not like it if you're not really into politics, but it was pretty funny. Anyway, this is getting longer than it needs to be. Peace out
