i have heard that the way is to swirl the water with a spoon before dropping the egg in, although i have never tried it myself.

I read that vinegar helps to hold the whites together, so if you pour a few drops (?) into the water before placing the egg in there, that might work.

P.S. Eggs get a bad rap about the cholesterol. My naturopathic physician eats 2-3 soft-boiled eggs every day and swears by them as an essential power food and source of protein. So, enjoy with a free conscience!
