Highsmith Guy was my betta fish; he died a few weeks ago. His name was pronounced with the accent on the second syllable, & he made bubble nests & had the sweetest little upturned nose ever.
That is our fort, & it's so warm when it's all lit up & full of people I love. Even when it's empty & dark, it's the very best escape. Thank you.
Ricky Martin has a new album out, which I listened to on the way back from London. It's predictably cute, but there's definitely no "Cup of Life" on there or anything, which is a shame.
The fort is pretty perfect; I wish you could see it.
I love you, too, so much, & not only because you would remember underrated Ricky Martin songs. If you were here, we could drive around singing pop music soulfully & we could dip cookies in cocoa & swear off things we actually have no intention of giving up. It would be so good. As it is, I'm so glad I talked to you last night; you're so grounding for me. Things will have to be okay for you, too; you deserve so much better than okay, & you're on your way.
I should marry Ricky Martin, I think. My god, this song! It's too bad he is so awfully gay. There has been a huge Ricky poster at the Goodwill here for months, & if I had a place to put it, I'd so buy it, since no one else seems to appreciate it enough.
Jen, you are wonderful. And your room looks obscenely comfy. I should put a photo post up sometime. I miss you and I can't believe we're going to be juniors soon and we need to hang out sometime this summer. Haha...speech and debate seems so long ago, and to think how much has changed since then...such a jaded, cliche thing to say, but so true. XOXOXOXOXO.
Caro, you are wonderful. That's not my room, but it might as well be, since my suitemates moved out. The fort is pretty incredible, the perfect place for slumber parties & long crying phonecalls.
I am trying not to remember that I've only two years before the next part of my life starts. I feel unready, you know? I love this, here. Mostly. Let's pretend we're not growing up.

It's vaguely mortifying because I lack your way with words, but just tell me where to send it & you know I will.

and I don't remember that song, you're right, I'm sorry. And I had Ricky Martin's CD, too.

Oh and I definitely remember that song. The moment I read that I started singing the lyrics, but of course I would be one to remember that, lol.
