Summary: Adam wants to go to the fair.
A/N: It would probably be a good idea to know who Dusty Madrid is before you read this fic, if you don't already.
Tommy walked cautiously through the county fair, ignoring the calls of various carnies trying to get him to ‘play a little game.’ This place was so shady, he couldn’t believe Adam had asked him to meet him there. It was their day off, and Adam had done a little research and found out that a local town was having their annual county fair.
Now, Tommy was all for fairs. He loved the greasy food and the rides that went upside down multiple times and held you there… but this wasn’t Adam’s thing. Like, at all. Tommy was practically swimming in fat men in cut off’s and sweat-stained tanks holding corndogs, and he could just see Adam shuddering in disgust.
Speaking of Adam, Tommy didn’t even know where he was. He had told him to meet him by the Ferris wheel, but that was really vague seeing as there was a whole sea of people by the Ferris wheel. And he guessed that Adam wasn’t wearing his usual showy clothes and pounds of glitter. And he wasn’t answering his phone.
Tommy hadn’t even worn his creepers, which had seemed logical at the time of the decision, but now he couldn’t even see over half the people there. He tried calling Adam’s cell again, and got no response. Two overly excited teenage girls ran up to him, asking for an autograph and a picture. Tommy complied, happy to at least have something to do while he waited. The girls squealed and said something about a ‘little elf kitten’ which he chose to ignore.
“Hey,” he asked them as they turned to leave, “do you know if there’s any place to get tacos around here?” For some reason this made them burst out into a fit of laughter. Tommy faked a laugh, and they pointed him in the right direction. They offered to walk with him too, but he politely declined. Fangirls.
He found the taco place easily, ordered, and sat down at a picnic table to eat. He could feel the stares of people around him - he wondered if they recognized him or were just scrutinizing his eyeliner and outfit choice. He had thought he was dressing pretty casual for a fair, but these people were… not used to people like him.
One of them was walking towards him. ‘Oh, shit.’ Tommy thought. This guy did not look like a fan, and he was plopping himself down right next to Tommy.
“Uh, hi…” Tommy said, in an effort to be polite. The man was wearing sunglasses, but Tommy could feel him staring at him. “Can I help you?”
The man had shoulder length blonde hair, a mustache to match, and topped it all off with a baseball cap. He looked like he had walked straight out of a trailer park.
“I dunno, can ya?” The man replied with a southern twang. ‘What the hell?’ Tommy thought, ‘This is New York…why do you sound like you’re from Texas?’
“Um…” Tommy really had no idea what to say.
“Look, here’s the deal. I’m looking for someone to take into that alleyway a little back there, nice and private, ya know? What I need is someone to suck me off. I can pay ya. Whataya say? Name’s Dusty, Dusty Madrid.”
Tommy subconsciously slid away from the creepy man. “Uh, I’m not a prostitute. I dunno what you think this is, but this is a fair, dude. Like, you ride rides and eat food, its not-”
But Dusty leaned in and kissed Tommy square on the mouth, his mustache poking at his face.
Tommy jumped up, pushing the man away at the same time.
“What the fuck, dude?! I think you need to leave, I’m supposed to be meeting someone here anyways!” The man did not look hurt, or even surprised, but he didn’t leave either.
“Yeah, me.”
“No, A-” He stopped, deciding against telling random strangers that he was meeting Adam Lambert here. He didn’t want to draw a crowd or anything. “A friend. I don’t even know you, and quite honestly I’m creeped out, so if you don’t leave, I will.”
“Like I said,” The stranger took off his sunglasses and looked at Tommy intently with a pair of electric blue eyes, “You’re here to meet me.”
Tommy threw his head back and laughed harder than he ever had in his life.
“Oh my God, Adam!” He squealed between fits of laughter, “What the hell, man?!”
Adam dissolved into a fit of hysterical laughter as well. “I totally had you convinced! You should’ve seen your face!”
“Well, what the fuck did you expect? Some trailer trash man with a mustache asked me to suck him off in an alleyway, and then forced his mouth on me! Where the hell did you even get this anyway?” Tommy said, fingering the strands of fake blonde hair attached to Adam’s head. “And Dusty Madrid? Did you use one of those Porn Star name generators on the internet or something?”
Adam just laughed and put the sunglasses back on, stood up, and extended his hand to Tommy.
“No way, dude. I can’t walk around this place holding hands with you while you look like that. People would stare enough if you were dressed normally, but with that getup on…”
“Oh, Tommy. When will you stop caring what other people think?” Adam grabbed his hand anyways, pulled him up, and dragged him off into the heart of the fair.
“Are you still wanting me to suck you off in an alley?” Tommy asked. “Because I gotta admit, I dunno if I’m okay with that.”
“Nope, better idea.” Adam smiled evilly.
And that’s how they ended up on the Ferris wheel. Stuck at the very top, while the carnie running it waited for other riders to show up and want to ride.
“Well, this works out perfectly.” Adam said with a smile and a wink.
“You don’t seriously want me to…” Adam continued to smile.
And that’s how Tommy fulfilled Adam’s previous wishes. Tommy wondered how many people had given blowjobs at the top of the Ferris wheel. He had to admit, it was pretty cool.
“My turn?” He asked, whimpering. Adam nodded, and Tommy peeled off his mustache while he worked on the zipper of Tommy’s pants. Just as Adam was about to return the favor, they heard a little girl’s voice.
“Mommy, what are those men doing?!” Neither of them had realized that the ride was moving again, and they were no longer at the top and obscured from everyone else’s view.
“OH NO,” Adam said loudly, bending over Tommy while he put himself away, “I SEEM TO HAVE LOST MY CONTACT LENS!” He sat back up and re-attached his mustache, all the while feeling the lady’s glare. When they were out of view again, the two burst out laughing.
“Sorry, Glitterbaby.” Adam said, still laughing.
“It’s okay!” He assured the disguised man, “She killed the mood anyways…”
Adam patted the space in the compartment next to him, and enveloped Tommy in his arms when he scooted over. Tommy laid his head on Adam’s chest for a moment, before telling Adam again how fucking weird it was to see him dressed like this.
“What, you don’t like Dusty?” He said, in his southern accent.
“Adam. This is Western New York. The people here don’t talk like that. At all.”
Adam laughed, running his fingers through Tommy’s hair.
“Hey, do you have a sharpie?”
Tommy nodded. He had stuck the one from the fangirls in his back pocket on accident.
“Why?” He asked, as he handed it over.
“I’ve always wanted to do this.” Adam uncapped the sharpie and signed his name on the metal of the compartment.
“Gimme that!” Tommy signed his own name beside Adam’s, and put a heart between them. He added the date at the bottom. He was about to cap the sharpie when Adam snatched it out of his hand again, scribbling something underneath it. He popped the cap back on and handed it back to Tommy, moving in front of it so it was out of Tommy’s view.
“What’d you write?”
“You can’t see it!”
“Show me!”
Adam rolled his eyes. “Stop being so toppy.”
“You like it.” Tommy said, as he shoved Adam out of the way to read what he had written.
“Awe,” he said, leaning in for a kiss, mustache and all, and smiling one of his rare smiles, “I love you too. Some fangirl is going to find that you know.”
“I know.” He pulled out his iphone and snapped a picture, just for himself. To remember.
Before they knew it the ride was slowing, and they were back at the bottom. Tommy eyed the next people in line, who would get the car that they were in. Just his luck, it was the fangirls from before. They waved at him, and he waved back. ‘Dusty’ blew them a kiss, which put confused looks on both of their faces.
Tommy and Adam stood at the exit, hand in hand, and watched the girls climb into the car to see their reactions.
The curly haired girl saw it first, her eyes widened and her jaw dropped as she shook the other girl and pointed frantically. The other girl had the same reaction, but screamed. The two slowly looked over to where the disguised Adam and Tommy were standing, and watched them with mouths open in shock until they were too high up and out of view.
The two men laughed, and Tommy suggested that they get the hell out of there before the two girls got off the ride and came to find them. Adam agreed, but not without a kiss first.
He cupped Tommy’s face with his hands, and Tommy got up on his toes to make their lips meet.
“You know,” Tommy said when they broke apart, “That mustache has gotta go.”
