At her captain's words and gesture, the young lieutenant could barely resist the urge to slap him until he regained the small semblance of sane seriousness she knew he could possess. Instead, all while glaring up into his eyes from behind her lenses, she politely but distinctly removed his hand from her shoulder. "It would probably be best if we worked on a way to get back home, sir," she responded in a controlled tone, practically gritting her teeth as she restrained herself.

"Have you found out anything about how we got here?"

Nanao, still was just as stubborn as ever, and Shunsui, still was just as perverted as ever, it seems.

"Why leave this extended vacation so soon? You've only just got here."

"...with all due respect, sir, my stay so far has been anything but a vacation," she noted, raised one eyebrow at him calmly. "We need to figure out how to get back. The Soul Society is weakened with so many of its Gotei 13 being in this place." The lieutenant shook her head, her eyes showing a hint of concern as she considered this. Was this someone's plan? Had someone sent them here in order to weaken Soul Society? She had learned to suspect everything these days...very few people could be trusted anymore, and even they were considered very carefully.

Suddenly, like a tidal wave, the events of the past few weeks crushed down on her, and her cold, iron-clad demeanor suddenly softened into one of defeat. She knew there was probably no way for them to leave this place, and she felt completely useless. That, combined with her recent stress, had brought her to a point where she couldn't maintain her stubborn no-nonsense attitude any longer.

Maybe her Captain was right...maybe she just needed to catch her breath. "...okay. Fine. We rest
