I got to make a 411 operate snort and chortle yesterday.

After picking up Kevin from a friend's house, we decided to treat ourselves to some take-out for dinner.  I called 411 from the cell to get the number to the only Chinese place in town (it's not great, but hey, it's Chinese).  I said the wrong name after the prompt and immediately followed it ( Read more... )

Thanks everyone, for your comments about Molie.  She was a sweet cat.

I was up with her until about 3:30 this morning.  She'd seemed "off" for a little while, and last night she was "wobbly" and lying in my lap a lot.  I made a bed for her in the living room and laid her down, pet her a little more and kissed her good night.  I woke up about 9 with ( Read more... )

While on the phone with Mom earlier, she talked about some person and how old he is.

Me:  "76 isn't all that old."
Mom:  "Yes it is."
Me:  "Nah.  96 is old.  Besides, he's not that much older than you."
Mom:  "I'm old.  I'm 73."
Me: "You're 72."  
Mom:  "I'm 73."
Me:  You turned 72 in December.  You're 72."

Tonight was our Relay for Life event.  The overall theme was television, and we chose Monday Night Football.  My job was to create fans for the bleachers.  Pictures of coworkers - their bodies + pictures of football jerseys = tailor made football fans!

A couple of nights ago I was on the phone with Dawn.  We had our high school yearbooks out (we graduated together) and were talking about who we remember and who we don’t, things written in the books, etc.  Kevin found my yearbook on the bed this morning and started looking through it.  There's one picture in a collage-type page that was lighter ( Read more... )
