The FDA finally approved Plan B for sale without a prescription. I rejoice for women everywhere.

Now everyone everywhere can have worry-free sex and be even more careless than usual because hey, you can just bust into CVS the next morning for a quick sec, spend a few, and have a morning-after pill with your iced coffee.

The sad thing is, there are people who will think of it that way... sigh.

My roommate in college needed to use it once after a bad broken condom incident... I felt so bad for her because she had to rush around and try to get a prescription, and she was scared shitless the whole time.

Aw geez. :( THAT is why I'm so glad it's non-prescription now ... for girls that REALLY need it when something goes wrong!

This is why I think it's awesome that it's non-prescription also, not because I condone having "worry-free" sex...just to clear that up. :-) I had to take it once for the same reason, and that month of waiting to see if it was effective was very stressful and scary. Not to mention that I was pretty mortified to have to go to the doctor and get a prescription for it. I can understand why certain people would be in an uproar about it, too...the age restriction doesn't do much, as basically anyone over 18 can purchase it (like cigarettes), so a teenager who is practicing unsafe sex has an easy way out if they have a friend over 18 who can purchase it for them. However, I still like the fact that if that experience were to ever happen again, I have my anonymity and don't have to go to a doctor first.
