just a thought... people should get guitar/skiing/snowboarding/drumming/whatever lessons only from other slightly more skilled beginners... that way you understand the pure basics and dont get too frustrated but your creative energy isnt compromised. unless you want to just play someone else's music your whole life... then just let someone walk you

i am one of those people... and i really think thats the best way to do it (i reccomend that over anything)... but a lot of people dont have the patience and get pissed off in the beginning. plus i had music experience beforehand from playing clarinet which, although its very very different, gave me some basic knowledge to get started with. i dunno it worked for me and its a great way to do it but different tokes for different fokes as you would say.
