Hyukjae doesn’t say anything but offers her a faint smile. He sighs, finding her stirring from her sleep as he flicked the lights on. Her eyes seem to question him: where have you been? but he walks away, pushing her slightly as she approaches him. Hyukjae doesn’t find it necessary to tell her where he’s been, who he met; he doesn’t want to explain the how, whys and when’s. “Oppa-” but he stops her from saying another word and slips under covers. “I’m tired.” he says and turns away from the door where she stands.

Hyoyeon always finds herself awake at night; she’s always waiting for him to return home in which sometimes he doesn’t at all. With every call he says ‘I’m sleeping at the boys’ tonight’ and with every attempt to ask where he was when he did return, he merely replies with ‘I’m tired’. Hyoyeon is used to it - this painful routine, but she always puts up with it. Love could be blind, after all.

Hyukjae wishes she could disappear sometimes but he puts up with her constant whines and whimpers. Women are like that, he remembers Donghae telling him one night but he doesn’t understand why she does it more than the average woman. Your sister isn’t the same as her, Hyukjae. He’s sick of it; her endless attempt for them to ‘hang out’, her worried calls for when he doesn’t return; he’s sick of it all.

Hyoyeon would wander around the park in a sad attempt at cheering up and forget about her pains. ‘It’s not easy being in love is it?’ she’d ask Sooyoung, only earning a hug of sympathy. She begins to run towards the sunlight. I want to be free.

Hyukjae can tell that people are starting to talk about them; him, how they relationship is falling apart. He swears in his heart, stomping as he walks away. He wonders if she’s been telling people; confiding in them. I’m sick of you. Hyukjae just needs a reason to push her away.

Hyoyeon watches as he waves her goodbye, no hugs to offer, no kiss to remember him by. She doesn’t bother asking when he’s coming back; she knows it all too well. He turns to face her and offers her a smile again albeit a little reluctant to do so. He tilts his hat as a gentleman would and walks away without a word; ironic as it was. But Hyoyeon knows; he’s given up on them.
