Hmm. So Labour, obviously, would like me to vote for them. They could probably say something like "so, dude, we brought in the minimum wage, and chid trust funds, and ran the economy" and they'd have a point. But no, it goes like this ( Read more... )

You know, I like the honesty of the Conservative posters around Leamington Spa - the candidate there is Chris White, and all the posters say: "Vote WHITE - Conservative"
You're right about our system sucking. I live in a safe Labour seat, which means my vote counts for absoloutely nothing. The problem with PR is that with the current system you have *one* MP, and most of them are pretty fucking good when you go to them with a real problem (various people in my family have done this from time to time). If you had six MPs, I can guarantee a game of buck passing would ensue.

Hello sanity!

I have spent the morning in terse political debate with a guy who thinks (in short) anyone over 80 should have involuntary euthanasia carried out on them - (which I pointed out was, in fact, execution). There should be no guaranteed pensions - "If they haven't got enough savings they should die", the national minimum wage should be abolished, the Iraq war was a good call and that all potential parents should be means and intelligence tested prior to conception and the means testing would set a ceiling limit on the number of offspring allowed.

I expected to be working with capitalists not fascists.....
