Cheers :) My choice of water-melon splitting would have to be some kind of heavy hammer, but I'm sure you could borrow a blade from Psynian or any number of Meroveus' dueling companions !
My additional 2p (I'm sure you love my uninformed comments, so I keep making them) is that the sensation of motion would be increased somewhat by a curving of the motion blur that follows the sword - after all the sword will have travelled in an arc, not a straight line. Additionally the stance looks slightly stiled, albeit theatrically dramatic.
