There are a lot of really good movies that don't make the list.

Breathless, Jules et Jim, Rear Window, The Red Shoes, Fitzcarraldo, M, The Pianist, A Life Less Ordinary, Tape, Dazed and Confused, Goodfellas, Edward Scissorhands, Cool Hand Luke, A Clockwork Orange...

Nice list. I'm due to update mine.

.. except I <3 Huckabees. Really, I give it a 1/10 with the most generous bones in my body working overtime. For a DOR movie, Spanking the Monkey, Flirting with Disaster and Three Kings are far superior. And in terms of existentialist movies -- Abre los ojos, Waking Life, literally anything is better than that pretentious god-awful mess. Can't agree with you on that one at all.

Thanks :-) heylizzie January 24 2006, 11:35:04 UTC
See, I obsess over Huckabees. It's one of the few movies that I think has handled the hideous, and I mean HIDEOUS pretention of philosophy in general with a reasonably light tone ( ... )

When you make your list of favorites, you can put it lower.

(shrug) It's one of my absolute favorites.

i just got out of one of my classes where we watched 8 1/2, and everyone near me was just bitching and whining and waiting for it to end and trash talking it. It enraged me so much that i left the class early and went back to my room to throw something against the wall.

I just wanted to let you know that, thanks to you, I have not been able to stop listening to Iron and Wine "The Trapeze Swinger."

It's AMAZING. It's this deep, horrible, searing pain...but it's outstanding.

The second verse is my favorite.

Whatever happened to you signing online to talk to your old friend Molly?
