My head is still but my mind is turning.

I have not written publicly in here in ages, so I figured I need to start with something easy. And while this may be a bit boring, I like having a record of it. I read 75 books in 2010, surpassing my usual goal of 50. Below is my list, in the order I read the books, with my ratings (basically: 1 star - uck, 3 stars - liked it, 5 stars - awesome) ( Read more... )

Welcome back! I was wondering how you were doing!

I'm amazed at your list. The most books I've ever read in a year's time was 53 (that was 2009...in 2010 I managed just 43).

I've only read three of the books on your list (Her Fearful Symmetry, The Hunger Games, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest.) The second and third books of The Hunger Games was ok, but the third one was a disappointment.

I actually started a book blog (I haven't mentioned it on facebook) at http://tediousandbrief.blogspot.com/

As for recommendations, I'm still a big fan of Haruki Murakami. If you liked The Hunger Games there's a similar novel by a Japanese author called "Battle Royale" which I liked better, probably because it wasn't as centered on one character in the "game". I think were also friends on goodreads, so you can also see what I read on there, but I did a posting of all the books I read last year on livejournal a few posts back, if you're curious.

Hope you're well!

Hi Dave! Thanks! I'm hanging in there -- resolving to try to write a bit more in 2011. We'll see if I can stick with it. :)

Thank you for your recommendations! I will check them out --- and your book blog. :)

Happy New Year!

Happy birthday! If you liked The Hunger Games, did you read the rest of the trilogy? I loved the first two books ... and I tried so hard to love the third, but, well, a lot of stuff happened.
