Awesome, awesome lyrics!! Thank you for posting them. :) Praise God for the glorious debt Jesus has allowed us to live in as His followers, and the debt to sin that He's freed us from.
amen :) they're from an old hymn from the 1800's, but it's been modernized and whatnot and we rocked it in church this morning. same words and everything, but it's badddd to the bone.
I know; it's one of my favorite hymns. We do the old school style version, but that's because our church is still sort of afraid of my drumset. ;)
Did you revamp the lyrics to say "You" instead of "Him" and "Jesus" in church? I'd be interested to hear your team do it, regardless. Hymn remakes are probably my favorite worship songs, next to original hymns. I love the idea of making those songs fit the sound of a new generation, while retaining the amazing power of the words.
We sang I'd Rather Have Jesus today, a capella. It's amazing that a song that uses words most people don't know the meaning of today can still ring as true as it did the day it was written.
I guess it says something about the human condition, that we never change all that much.
