hg_silverlining SUMMER FEST - RULES & GUIDELINES

Jun 08, 2011 19:07

Only one week left until the submission period opens! There are still plenty of great prompts left to choose from, and for those of you who have already found your perfect match I hope you are hard at work brainstorming or busily writing away.

Meanwhile here are some rules and guidelines for the submission process.

1. All participants are highly encouraged to use a beta-reader. Please do your utmost to ensure your work is free of grammatical and/or coding errors. For those who have never worked with a beta, or find themselves suddenly without the services of their usual reader, we will be putting out a call for volunteers in a separate post.

2. When you are ready to submit, we suggest doing a ‘practice post’ on your own journal to make sure everything is in order before posting to the community.

3. You are free to host your work on your own journals during the posting period; however we do ask that you link to the post here at the community. After August 15th, you are free to remove that link.

4. When posting your fics or artwork, please use the following header information:

Title:
Author/Artist:
Prompt:
Rating:
Warnings: (If none please put “n/a”)
Word Count/Medium:
Summary:
Notes:
Disclaimer:

5. Again, if you finish your first prompt you are welcome to claim another one. Please do not comment to the prompt claiming post for your 2nd prompt; instead send an email to hg_silverlining@yahoo.com, or PM either belladonna_tb or myself to let us know which one you would like to take. We will accept claim requests up until one week before the end of the fest, August 8th.

6. For now we are accepting only one claim per prompt. However, in the interim, if all prompts are claimed and there is enough interest, we will open them for double claims.

7. We all know that things come up, and time can get away from us once in awhile. If, as the deadline approaches, you are at all unsure about being able to finish on time (or if you feel you need to drop out of the fest for any reason), please let us know as far in advance as possible. We’ve all been there, and we’ll totally understand. Just don’t disappear on us!

8. As always if you have any additional questions please do not hesitate to PM or e-mail us (hg_silverlining@yahoo.com). We’ll do our best to get back to you within 24 hours.

Happy Writing!
