A year of catching up

Dec 31, 2011 14:42

This year blew last year out of the water. Not difficult, I'll admit. 2011 did a lot of making up for 2010 while I struggled to get my head on straight, reclaim my life, and deal with things. I talk about Dad because he was so formative of my life, and his death doesn't mean I should avoid those anecdotes ( Read more... )

dad, life, reading list, year's end

Ooh, how I envy you your book list. How do you do it?

For the goals, even if you don't want to post the whole list, what about a peek at the highlights or your favourite accomplishments? That could be fun.

I work in a used book store that allows me to borrow the books. :P It's a seriously awesome day job.

Hm... Maybe I'll post the "for public consumption" highlights here? I was thinking about that. Mostly, I'd planned to share the list with the few folks whom I knew were interested (namely, Kay and Tait). I know I like hearing about goals my friends have, but I try not to make that assumption about anyone else. I also like keeping this a public LJ, and I'm not sure what on the list I'm comfortable putting out there for anyone to see. But if you're like me and are curious to see what other people are setting as goals, I'll add you to the email of the uncensored version!

Please do! It's easy to get caught up in day-to-day stuff, and a list like that would get away from daily minutiae. I'd find it very interesting.

Another option, if you want to put it on LJ but don't want it completely public, is just to make that one post friends-only. I do that sometimes when I have something that I don't want to be completely public for whatever reason. I've friends-only'd some of my book posts because I might review the books academically at some point, and I didn't want any confusion between the two.

I was considering posting it under a friends-lock, but even then I'd be censoring. I'm only about halfway through the list of 101 things (when I've decided my 'start' date was August 1, 2011) but I'll send it out soon, whether it's finished or not!
