I just read over the writer's blog assignment sheet again and realized that these posts are supposed to be more formal than I've been making them... Looking back at my other entries, I feel like I’ve fulfilled the requirements for each post (250 words, class related subject, thesis, etc), but I haven’t been making them as structured as they

Why couldn't you write about something else? I'm so done with poems about meat, and men writing about other men following each other in super markets.

And I agree, what we said about the meaning in this poem is only the first house we covered in toilet paper. We have the whole block to get to.

I agree with your non-conformist idea. I also think the supermarket was the setting because, at the time, it was a new concept and people felt they could go there to get anything they needed. Maybe the fact that Walt Whitman was wandering around the store but never actually bought anything means he never found what he was looking for.

I actually sort of reveled in the fact that these posts had the potential to be less structured than papers (gives you a chance to breathe).
