1.Why would you like to join Hogwarts Home? Will you participate in both the process of sorting new applicants and the sub-communities one you have been sorted?
I would like to join a lot. I think that this is a really great idea for a community. It would be really fun to do. I would defiantly participate in everything I can. I think that it is fun to sort people and join things.
2. Have you read all 6 of the Harry Potter books? Which book was your favorite and why?
Yes, I have read all of the Harry Potter books. All of them more than five times, I have already lost count. This question has always been a hard one for me. I truly love all the books. However, I would have to say that the sixth book is my favorite. I think that all of the books get better as they go on. They deal with more mature things, obviously, as they grow older and the plot gets more tangled and twisted. I think it is fun to try to figure out what JKR is going to do next. I love to say “Oh, this is definatly going to happen!” or, “That is not going to happen!” I like how for the beginning part of the book you have no idea who is doing all of these grusome things to people. The characters have to find who to trust. They have to pick and choose wisely. It is interesting to see who they will choose, if you think that they are good or not.
3. What character do you most relate to? Why?
I think I most relate to Hermione. She is a little bossy, and a little bit of a know-it-all. I am both, according to my parents. -_- She doesn’t explain herself very well sometimes and I can also relate to that. She also sometimes just looses it completely. I do that quite a bit. She is intelligent and is in many extra classes. I am smart and I am in a few honors classes. Ever since I got the first book she reminded me of, well, me. My friends would always call me Hermione and I would call them the character they were most like. It was a lot of fun.
4. Who is your least favorite character? Why?
My least favorite character has to be Professor Trelawny. She is so clueless. She irks me so much. She says so many things that she just makes up on the spot. She just says those things to worry the students, particularly Harry. I don’t really like that, if a teacher does that to a student I think that is wrong. When she was almost thrown out I was upset, but I wansn’t about to cry. I was okay with it if she did get thrown out because she was such a fake. She, in a way, deserved it, but then in a way, she didn’t. She was just truly a fake. “The fates would inform her,” but I think that that is really stupid.
5. What part of the series would you change if you were J.K Rowling? Why? I know that Sirius dying is going to be a big concept in the 7th book, however I hated it. Him just falling behind a veil and nobody ever to be able to see him again is so sad. I was crying. I know that she had to do it, but Harry (and us) just started to get to know him. It was such a young relationship and then it was torn apart. That is just so heart-wrenchingly sad.
6. If you were Headmaster/Mistress at Hogwarts, what changes would you make? Why?
I would make more Inter-House things. They don’t really have a time to communicate with people from the other Houses. They are separated at meals. They don’t have the same common rooms and bedrooms. They have lessons together, but they can’t really talk because they are doing their lessons. They need to get some more friends. They don’t really know anyone from the other Houses unless they were in some club. I would like to do that.
7. If you were faced with a boggart what would you see?
I don’t really know. I think I would see me, only older. I would not have accomplished anything I wanted in life. I would be someone who isn’t happy and hates her job. I think that is a pretty bad thing.
8. What are your top 3 positive traits that you feel define you? Why?
I am very open-minded. I will listen to your opinions and most likely agree with you. However, if you force them on me I won’t like that at all.
I am very caring. I want to help others. I will stand up for you if someone is saying mean things to you. I love to participate in charities and drives. I think it is loads of fun, and you are helping someone while doing it.
I am responsible. I babysit a lot. I always do my homework, I don’t think I have forgotten any in years. I usually don’t forget anything of great importance.
9. What are 3 negative traits that you feel hinder you?
I have low self esteem. I don’t think that I am good in anything. I don’t try to fish for compliments or anything, but I just don’t think I can do it. For instance, I pitch in softball. The past few teams I have been on I am the only pitcher so I would pitch every game. I think that I am a horrible pitcher, no matter what anyone tells me. I think that I can’t do anything in school. I am not good enough for honors. I can’t do the work.
I am obsessed with being neat and tidy. I am very organized. All of my books have to be in a specific order. I have to have things exactly the way I want them or I flip out. For instance if you have a piece of hair hanging infront of your ear and it is visible I will put it behind your ear.
I am overly emotional. If you do something to make me angry I will tell you. I will tell you what you did just then to make me explode and all of the other things I can think of that you have done. I cry way to much also. I cry at almost every movie and book.
10. Please tell us why you should or should not be placed in each of the four houses.
I guess I wouldn’t want to be in Slytherin. I don’t have anything against them, I just don’t think that that would be the best thing for me. I just don’t really remind myself of a Slytherin. For instence when I think of myself in a house, I think of me in all of them in a way, but Slytherin would be the last on my list. I don’t really have any of their traits except that I am really competative.
11. Which of the four houses do you feel you are least suited for? Why?
I guess I wouldn’t want to be in Slytherin. I don’t have anything against them, I just don’t think that that would be the best thing for me. I just don’t really remind myself of a Slytherin. For instence when I think of myself in a house, I think of me in all of them in a way, but Slytherin would be the last on my list. I don’t really have any of their traits except that I am really competative.
12. If you could place one memory in a pensieve, what would it be? Why?
I think that I would put one special vacation in it. We went across the country. We hit at least 10 major things to see. It was such a fun and amazing time, but I don’t remember half of it. My parents or brothers will make a reference to it and I wont know what they are talking about. That makes me sad that I can’t remember something I had so much fun with. I was 11. That was only three years ago and I can’t remember it.
13. Many say our choices are what make us unique. How easily do you make choices? Do you often regret those choices later?
It takes me a very long time to make a decision. I can’t even pick what I want to eat in a hurry. It usually takes me a good 5-10 minutes. I usually don’t regret anything I do. I think that that is what I did and I am fine with that. As they say in RENT “Forget regret, or life is yours to miss.”
14. Which of the four Hogwarts Founders (Rowena Ravenclaw, Salazar Slytherin, Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff) which would you be most interested to meet and why? I would like to meet Godric Gryffindor. I would like to just talk to him. I would like to see how heroic he is, what he did, how he contributed to make Hogwarts and the idea. I would just like to learn more about him.
15. What do you feel makes Hogwarts so magical?
I think that just it being a place where you can learn magic is the best part. You get sorted into Houses and go around with people in your year and learn spells. That would just be so cool. I would have so much fun with that. Being able to do real magic . It is just mind boggling.
16. The Second war between Light and Dark is taking place; who do you think will win the final battle? Why do you feel this way?
I think that the Light will win. However, I think that they will lose a lot of wonderful people. (I know that JKR said only two, but whatever. ^_^)The Dark side will just barely lose. They will lose a lot of people too. I think that Harry and Voldemort will both die trying to kill each other.
17. What is your favorite spell in the Potter Universe? Why?
This took me a long time to think about. I have never really thought about it. However, I suppose my favorite spell would be Expecto Patronum. It wards off one of the most evil monsters in the Wizarding World. Not only does it do that, but it also shows so much about you. It shows your personality, feelings, and it really shows who you are as a person. It could show your favorite animal, or the one you act most like. It could show so many different things. I think that is very cool.
18. If you were given the oppertunity to own and run one shop in Diagon Alley or Hogsmeade, what would it be? Why?
I think that I would run a clothing shop. You would have robes for all the Houses and first years not in Hogwarts yet. You would have scarves, hats, and gloves. You would make a lot of money seeing as everyone needs the things you are selling. It would be a lot of fun to own.
19. From reading the first book, we know Harry was almost placed in Slytherin. If you were the Sorting Hat which of the four houses would you have placed him?
I would have most defiantly placed him in Gryffindor. He tries to help people. He is very heroic. Even though he has some of the characteristics from Voldemort that doesn’t make him a Slytherin.
20. There are many wonderful sorting communities on Livejournal; Why would you like to be a part of Hogwarts Home? Have you read and understood all the rules?
I like this idea. To sort someone and have them do activities with their house and do all sorts of fun things is an awesome idea. I think that it would be so much fun. Yes, I have read all of the rules.
21. How did you hear about Hogwarts Home? If it was a member please give their name so they can earn points.
I was looking at a whole bunch of Harry Potter Communities and I was looking at the affiliates.
22. Would you like to tell us anything else about yourself? I am a huge Harry Potter fan. On my eleventh birthday I got the first book, I was hooked from then on. I have posters of the movies on every wall of my bedroom, you can not even see the walls. I have read the books countless numbers of times and my friends and I have come up with a group. We call ourselves the Harry Potter Whores. We get together, watch the movies, make Harry Potter food, talk about it, draw lightning bolt scars on our foreheads, and just do really fun stuff relating to Harry Potter. As I’ve said before I think that this is a great idea and I \really hope to get in. ^_^
