Having vanquished Voldemort for once and for all, the hero Harry Potter was finally sleeping a well-deserved, perfectly relaxed, scar-free slumber in Gryffindor Tower. Meanwhile, Minerva McGonagall was starting her plans to rebuild the school… for the time being, the weather was good enough that lessons and exams could be held outside for the remainder of the year - which would put an interesting spin on OWLs and NEWTs.
Far away from it all, Rodolphus Lestrange was in tears for the first time in his life. He had lost the love of his life, whom he had spent his first five years at Hogwarts trying to impress, his next two only being able to see her through Hogsmeade weekends, and then two and a half decades of fighting on the losing side of a war with her, trying in vain to prevent that barmy, senile Gryffindor prat Albus Dumbledore from defining what a wizard should be. He had survived the war, but for now what he needed was a good stiff drink. So he went to an old pureblood pub, Sanctimonia, where he had spent quite a few happy nights with Bellatrix Lestrange in younger days. This time, though, he was there to drown his sorrows in century-old Firewhisky: he needed this before he could begin picking up the pieces of his life and try to figure out how to reduce his future Azkaban sentence to a manageable amount.
