Title: A Merry Little Christmas

The Christmas tree was up, the decorations and candy canes swinging from the pine fresh branches. It really was a picture of loveliness; or at least it would have been, if Tonks wasn’t currently trying to disentangle her only son from a giant pile of tinsel and fairy lights.
“Oh Merlin…” This wasn’t looking good. If she couldn’t get him out, Sev was going to kill her.
The front door slammed, announcing his arrival, and she panicked, quickly stepping in front of the giggling pile.
“Dora! Whats…” he frowned, throwing his cloak over the arm of the couch as she stood guiltily in the middle of the room.
“He did it again, didn’t he?”
“Yeah…” she stepped aside. The pile of tinsel giggled, and her husband rolled his eyes. Teddy had done the exact same thing the week before at the burrow when Molly had been putting up her own tree; it was slightly less amusing the second time.
Shaking his head, he lifted the glittering heap into the air, letting most of the tinsel fall to the ground. “Alright, you get it, but be careful!”
Nodding she began unwinding the sparkling ropes, littering the floor. Soon enough Teddy’s small face was revealed, blue hair flecked with silver tinsel.
“I am never, ever putting up the Christmas tree while he’s awake again.” Tonks muttered angrily, unknotting the last few pieces. “I still have no idea how he managed it in the first place!”
Severus was smirking. “Takes after his mother, I suppose.”
She rolled her eyes, but he managed to make her smile.
“I wasn’t this annoying.”
“Ah, I beg to differ, your mother’s told me plenty of stories…”
Finally, their son was tinsel and fairy light free. Taking him in her arms, Tonks kissed his forehead.
“Don’t you do that again, you hear?”
He giggled again.
“Why don’t I put him to bed, and you can finish up here?” Sev suggested. Handing Teddy over, she gave her husband a light kiss.
She had just put the finishing touches on when he came back downstairs to the sitting room and wrapped his arms around her from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder.
“Looks wonderful.” He murmured in her ear.
“It’s perfect. Our first family Christmas. She smiled, blushing when he kissed her neck. She loved that he could still make her blush like that.
“Its going to be an excellent Christmas.” Sev said sweetly, kissing her again. She couldn’t agree more.
