Ok, so Thursday I decided to not come to school. We are meap testing, so theres no point for me to be there. I wake up with a fever. Go figure, right? so i go for half a day on friday, just to catch up with my homework (I missed some school that monday and wednesday too). So alright. I go through the weekend, but I keep getting worse. So no school monday. My mom takes me into the doctor, because she's paranoid. So hes listening to my heart and all that normal stuff, and asks to see my throat. So I guess it looked bad... he felt around my stomach, and told me my liver shrank to half its size. im freaking out at this point, well not really. But I was like "ok? am i fine?" and so i find out i have mono. So i go down to get my blood tested, and they had to fill 4 tubes with blood. on my third tube, i was like "just to let you know, im kind of getting dizzy" so, i puke twice. Now time for the fourth tube, and my mom and another doctor are holding me up so I don't fall out of the chair while they are taking out the blood. Needless to say, I was taken out in a wheelchair.
The doctor said I might need steroids. I got them today. Let me tell you, they don't work. And I've lost 7 pounds as a result of not being able to swallow.
So what have we learned? If you are going on spring break and didn't get the results you were looking for at the gym, get mono.
