Hmmm, I like the idea of advertising a package deal outside of the immediate area.
However, IMHO, the flaw in venues is that they cater to a certain clientele but they make big predictions that everybody is going to want to come. Whether through ticket prices (Ahem, Exploration PLace) or other limitations, some of these places are digging themselves into holes. While I was at EP, I'll be darned if the ticket prices weren't too flippin' high. I don't go back there, so I don't know if they're still too high. That cut out a huge segment of the low-income population which only got to visit during school trips.
The prices are still too high. Cannot say anything about the exhibits. The one time we forked out the dough they were run down and we decided we would NOT purchase a family membership.
Advertising... amazing concept there, hi_may. Too bad the business dynamos behind the local attractions haven't considered it as an option, particularly given the point you've so succinctly made... other states and cities are advertising here, over the tube, radio and on billboards
