BIRDS birds birds

wow i have not posted in AGES let's fix that

There were birds in the parking lot today. Grackles. Pigeons. This is not unusual.

However, today they were also joined by parrots. Yeah, parrots. As in bright green dove-sized lorikeet-lookin' things. In central Texas. In winter.

I once came across a flock of parrots on my way home that sound a lot like those... such a cool sight in this city. :Ia

At least eight just shot out of a tree that day and I got kind of startled. There's a good number of pet stores in the area, so I figured they could have been from there... never found out!

A few years ago I saw a bird that looked like a mini Big Bird. It was weird. :/

Is there a desert near where you live? Because those sound like peach-faced lovebirds, which fly wild in the desert around Arizona. :D My brother lives in Phoenix and one of his students came into his room one day with a lovebird he had caught, wrapped in his shirt.
