Awww thats sucky that you missed them all! I'm in total agreement though; it's not really the pumpkins at all anymore! It was still such an amazing high to see them live though.. even though he was being pretentious with his guitar and being really over the top on the solos... half of the excitment was the atmosphere the crowd created!
nothing can hold a candle to the original smashing pumpkin line up. the new record is so different... and it's not that i don't like it, but it just doesn't give me that same amazing feeling that i get from their older stuff. for me, zeitgeist isn't even at a level where it can be compared to mellon collie because that's one of my favorite albums of ALL time.
You know, I'm not a huge fan of the new album at all... I mean, it just bothers me that James Iha isn't even in the band, and Billy Corgan is somehow still calling it the Smashing Pumpkins. It just doesn't feel right.
Mellon Collie is definitely one of my all time favorites too. There isn't much that I've ever listened that really rivals it.
i'd never really been opposed to the pumpkins, but when they did that thing where they released 3 different versions of their new cd with different songs on each...thats how you get on my shitlist.

I am so fucking frustrated with what he's done to the band. It isn't really the Pumpkins anymore...
While I was in Italy, they played EIGHT SHOWS in San Francisco. Two hours away from me!!! TWO HOURS! EIGHT SHOWS AND I MISSED ALL OF THEM!! Goddamnit.
