rating: PG-13
genre: romance/friendship, kind of angsty
summary: the world ends, leaving super junior behind.

earth fucked up when henry's clock read 12:49 in the morning.

when the world ended, south korea was quiet.
thirty minutes after realizing what was to realize, siwon's still praying. his knuckles are painfully white, his eyes are squeezed shut as tight as possible, and he's curled up ridiculously on the floor of his living room. he's positioned there for a long time and doesn't stand up until he's finished asking his long list of questions to God.

donghae is thinking. he sits on the bed by the window of his dorm, waiting for something (anything) to happen. he's almost completely sure that he's going crazy because he thinks he had just witnessed everyone in the area- or maybe even the world- disappear. he blinks and wonders if he should get on his feet and look for his other members. or if he should continue sitting and thinking. or if he should call hyukjae and apologize. or if he should sleep and never wake up. he doesn't know what to think.

it's half past midnight when kyuhyun gives a final nod of understanding to his manager and goes to practice in the waiting room of some night music show. he dances a bit, sings more, then sits tight for his cue onstage. about twenty minutes pass, and now he's pissed. he slides over to the door and presses his right ear onto the wood, listening for anybody's voice. when he doesn't hear anything (nothing at all), he pushes the entrance open and walks on. for the first time in his career, kyuhyun doesn't have an audience.

at a military base somewhere in the northern part of south korea, kim heechul is the only person awake. (because he needs to use the men's room.) he shuffles through the trees, squinting through the dark, searching for the outdoor bathroom. after he does what he has to do, he rinses his hands underneath the pump, then carries on to go back to slumber. during the trip from the toilet to the tents, he thrusts his head back and looks at the stars (which are really pretty out here-, wherever he's at). somehow, it reminds him of super junior.
heechul smiles and casts his mind back to each member and all the good (and bad) moments he had with his brothers. when his brain drifts off to remember that chinese guy, he immediately forces himself to stop thinking and pulls away from the sky. he hurries all the way back to the campsite. it takes him a while to realize that the people he shares the tent with had disappeared. it takes him even longer to realize that everyone at the base had disappeared.

leeteuk can't sleep. he really hates himself because he needs this sleep, but right when he lays down, his back starts itching, his foot falls asleep, then his stomach starts growling, the hotel pillows suddenly aren't comfortable, then his bladder needs to relieve itself, and he really wants to just hurt something. after an hour of frustration, he paces around his room, going over his schedule for the week because that's his job and he has nothing else to do. a we got married thing, that exo showcase, army preparation, dinner with the managers, and rumor has it that kangin was coming back or something sometime next week. ('that's crazy,' leeteuk thinks.) at 12:47 a.m., he finally falls asleep.

it's one in the morning, and shindong is speeding twenty-six miles over the speed limit. he doesn't find it strange when he doesn't hear any police sirens because he's doesn't actually care; all that's on his mind right now is to plop on his bed and sleep like there's no tomorrow (oh, the irony). the built-in navigator on his car says, "fifteen miles until you reach your destination" and shindong whoops, but then Luck decides to slap his sunburn and make his car break down. he curses and kicks 'that piece of shit' (even though it's a bmw, but okay). after minutes of attempting to fix the situation, he angrily pulls out his cell phone and looks around for help. he curses even more when he finds out the world just ended.

like shindong, kim kibum was also driving when the world ended. he's whistling to troublemaker on the radio when out of nowhere, a truck- without a driver- rams into the left side of his jaguar, sending his car into the air. since he's in a state of unconsciousness, kibum doesn't notice the fact that all the other vehicles are missing their drivers; they're just empty and running.

kangin's at the incheon airport (returning from the years of service in military), sitting on the plane, waiting for everyone to be released into the actual airport. there are lots of people on the plane, but none of them are talking because they're in their own worlds, excited and anxious to return to their loved ones. kangin feels the same, thinking about his family, his friends, his fans, and his brothers. (man, he misses super junior.) he drifts off to sleep since the whole process is being delayed, but when he wakes up, he's the only one on the plane. he concludes that everyone had already left without him, so he finds his way out of the thing. he walks and searches, but he doesn't see a soul.

ryeowook is not being the ryeowook you're used to seeing; (the quiet, calm ryeowook) he would actually being considered obnoxious if he wasn't alone. clutching his sides, he doubles over in fits of laughter over a variety show he had been on years ago- 'evolving the human body' or something. it's late at night and he should really be getting to bed, but he continues to sit in front of his laptop with his earphones in his dorm, slightly longing for the days when they were the original, thirteen-member super junior. 'whatever,' he thinks to himself, and keeps giggling while the world ends.

yesung was singing when the world ended and eunhyuk was sleeping (he slept through one of the most significant events in the history of time). since yesung needed help with dancing and since yesung was his hyung, eunhyuk had gone with the older to an empty practice room where they blasted music and danced until eunhyuk got tired and slept in the corner of the room. yesung decided to sing for a couple more minutes (although he didn't really need any practice with it at the moment) then wake his dongsaeng up to return to their rooms. minutes turned into hours and before they knew it, it was dark outside, the moon was out, and the population of the earth was immensely reduced.

it's nine in the evening, and sungmin is at a barber shop that had closed at six p.m.
"you're paying extra for this, got that?" the hair stylist yawns and sort-of glares at the celebrity through her glasses. sungmin waves his credit card in the air. "it's easier to get hair styled when fans aren't watching, and the stylist back at sm gets on my nerves." she shrugs and pulls out her tools.
"do you want to get your hair dyed? fans went crazy when eunhyuk got that platinum blond bowl-cut," she adds, "fifty thousand won for chocolate brown."
"sure."
three hours pass and the stylist finally brings out her scissors and shears ("wow, it's already midnight.") and gets to cutting. halfway through, she accidentally hurts herself and pauses her work to get a bandaid, leaving sungmin with his incomplete, lopsided hair (that when you looked closely, it kind of looked like park yoochun's hair during the whole 'wrong number' era.) he sits on the chair and waits for his noona, (who never comes back).

when the world ended, china was quiet.
hankyung wanders around the streets- he had abandoned his car a while ago- and he knows he's somewhere near north korea. he thinks.
"hello?" he calls out for the billionth time in mandarin, then in cantonese. as expected, there isn't a reply. he continues to walk the lonely road, stops by to get some water and snacks from an empty house, and then walks more. he kind of understands what has happened (about the world ending and stuff) and has never felt this alone before. he takes a gulp of the water and hikes up a hill, thinking about his family (mostly his parents) and if he'll ever see them again. (this whole idea about everyone disappearing off the face of earth except for himself is still unreal to him.)
he thinks about the words he never had the chance to some people, and it makes him more hollow, as pain gnaws at his heart. he thinks about super junior (and super junior m) and the feelings he wasn't able to express to the members or the managers, even if he was speaking in his mother tongue. he can feel his eyes water and his vision blurs when he remembers siwon and donghae and heechul and everybody else. the sorrow of his heart is unbearable and his tears overflow because he knows he's alone, but he keeps walking and searching for humans.

imagine a place you can always escape to, an island off the coast of nowhere.

a/n: hi~. that came out...differently then expected. uhuhuhu. well, i really wanted to make a super junior fic so voila. i hope it's not too weird or confusing or stupid. D:
ok so this fic is going to be five parts long; this was kind of like a prologue. there will be pairings within super junior, (i wrote this with a romance genre in mind) so all the mainstream couples (like eunhae, kyumin, sihanchul, etc) and also hints/friendships (like kangin/kibum, etc) will be included. idk if henry and zhou mi will be in this. i won't make it too depressing (unless you like angsty angst). i think that's all i need to say?
btw, i wrote this before kangin returned and stuff, so sorry sorry if this is all late
thank you for reading :D
please do comment <3
will update soooooon

Disclaimer: These boys belong to SM, not me. I don't own anything in this fic (D:). Song: 'Welcome to Mystery' belongs to Plain White T's and Almost Alice Soundtrack.

genre: romance, fic: look at us, genre: angst
