I am sick and totally incoherent, but I need to comment on this since I forgot to do so when I read it over at y_c. This is amazing, just exquisite writing, and I'm totally blown away by how well you created this alternate universe. It's so rich and believable, and the characters are so much themselves. This is so, so good. ♥

omgomgomgomgomg I didn't comment on the y_c post of this BUT. I am commenting now. Incoherently. Slightly drunkenly. With many MANY smiles. And love. But mostly smiles, because holy muthafuckin' shit on toast this was done right. Love.

Beautifully written. The prose was, once again, so carefully designed, interweaving history and fiction almost seamlessly with a folktale kind of grace. Watching both of their developments in this other life mirror their developments in canon still leaves me breathless.

I realized, again, that the reason why I enjoy this style of your writing is due to the fact that I am reminded of the way traditional Japanese prose has read for me, and it's a welcoming mindset for such a culturally rich story.

Here's to hoping you further continue in this vein. ♥

Thanks a lot for your comments!

I've only read Japanese works in translation, but there does seem to be a certain mood and vocabulary used often. I'm really glad my version rings true. ♥
