May this night carry my will and may these old mountains forever remember this night. May the forest whisper my name and may the storm bring these words to the end of all worlds.
That's a gorgeous picture! Now I feel all motivated to change my Friends Only image again, lol. Oh, and I'm glad you mentioned period clothing, because that should be in my interests as well, and now you've reminded me I can add it.
Do you mind if I friend you? I totally understand if you want to wait to see if I'm interesting or whatever before you friend me - I have at least one friend (irl) who's very picky about who he grants access to his journal to, and people always get really offended. But I know how it is, private thoughts and all. So no sweat if you're hesitant.
It is gorgeous--it's my favourite by Varo. There are a bunch more of her paintings here if you want to check out more of her work. I'm glad you like period clothing as well! I keep imagining myself sewing something myself, like a medieval gown of some sort, but I can't even get myself to test my abilities on a small skirt. We'll see. I still have 60 years of my life ahead to sew a dress.
I wouldn't mind at all. I'm really picky as to who reads it because of previous issues (family, a certain whacko, etc.), but it's pretty easy to tell whether or not it'll work. :)
(re: Varo) Wow! I love them! Surrealistic art is my favorite. Her work is a bit Dali-esque, I think, only more subdued and fantastic. I'm bookmarking that page, along with my links to Susan Seddon Boulet, Michael Whelan, Jonathon Earl Bowser, and Jessica Galbreth. Are you familiar with any of them? Their images are actually kinda all over my journal
( ... )
I haven't heard of them, but I'll google them all as soon as I reply to your comments. :)
Heh, I'm the same way. I haven't tried learning to sew because I know I'm going to go all ADD on myself and become frustrated.
My experience was from a penpal I had written to from Scotland. He seemed nice in the beginning, but the more I got to know him, the more delusional he became. Later, he confessed that his doctor had told him he was slightly schizophrenic (can you be "slightly" schizophrenic?) and wouldn't leave me alone. He told me he loved me, was oblivious to my pleadings for him to stop emailing me, etc. I'm just glad he's in Scotland and nowhere near me, haha. I had to make my last journal entirely friends only because of him as well, and I'm not risking it this time. I want to know exactly who's reading this thing, haha.
Hey, I found you through aching_wounds and daughteroflight, and I love everything about you (well... what I can see on your userinfo...) I'm a bit of a viking freak and I love sewing my own stuff, too, which began mainly because corsets and skirts are always so expensive, but has now grown into a small business, so you never know. (an online shop I've named after the god Freyr, hee.) So, anyway, mind if I add you?
