Lacus's speech is pretty short. Doesn't say much more than not to trust Gilbert. AND THAT'S IT! (Well, she also says she's not covering for Djbriel). Cagalli doesn't say anything more on-air. What a useless speech! If anything, with Djbriel slicing up PLANTs, it's going to backfire horribly.
Meer can't handle the unscripted moment, and Gilbert pulls her off the air, and later on packs her off into a shuttle into space with a female bodyguard - the pic of her in a swimsuit is from the ep 45 preview btw. Meer has a brief flashback of what Athrun told her when he tried to get her to escape - she's pretty terrified of Gilbert now.
Shinn's not sure what to think so goes begging to Rey, who has a few flashbacks and basically says he doesn't really care who's the "real" one - it's what you do that counts (sort of thing) and basically ends with saying to follow Gilbert. Lunamaria has a flashback from her spying in ep 24-25 and isn't sure about things either. Rey then brings up Justice and Athrun being alive and Shinn is really stressed. Lunamaria finds out Athrun's alive so wonders if Meyrin's alive - Rey suggests that if she is, she's probably on the AA.
Requiem is a pretty interesting weapon - and Djbriel went all the way up to the moon so he could fire it - it's on the EA base on the dark side of the moon. Meanwhile, ZAFT have encountered some EA people in odd places and are attacking them. During this time, Requiem fires, and though the beam comes from the "dark side of the moon", the several relay points bend the beam, and it slices through PLANTs like butter! Djbriel was aiming to take out the main PLANT for ZAFT (Aprillus I think it is), but the bending of the beam didn't quite go right (because of Yzak and co's attack I think).
Everything goes into hyper-mode once the attack is done, and Yzak quickly rallies the troops to take out the relay point they're at. Also looks like a huge bunch of ZAFT forces head to the moon. Rey calmly explains how Requiem works and says they're to blame for letting Djbriel get away, and Shinn starts blaming Athrun. Meanwhile, the Minerva launches into space, and looks to be heading for the moon.
Kira, Lacus etc (including Mwu) are on AA's bridge. Looks like Kira and Lacus are pretty sure what the "Destiny Plan" is and they explain it - I'll have to listen to it a bit more but basically sounds like genetically changing everyone to be happy (sort-of), but have no real will to want to change things - everyone is locked into a predetermined path. And Coordinators will be on top, with Gilbert as "king". Of course, Athrun and Kira aren't going to let the world go to hell again (Djbriel's actions will cause similar effect to GENESIS being fired) and aren't about to let Gilbert have his way either, and they end with clasping hands.
Meanwhile, Gilbert seems to have gotten a thrown - he certainly makes it like one the way he's sitting on it. He's up in a new ZAFT base, built on top of an asteroid, called "Messiah". It's hard to be certain, but he almost seemed happy with Djbriel blasting up the PLANTs.
