LIKE A GLASS 18

CHAPTER 18

Yoochun’s eyes snapped awake at the roaring tone of his alarm clock. Tiredly he extended his hand to turn off the alarm clock.

Taking his time to stretch and yawn he scratched his head and wondered why he felt a bit more refreshed today. Tired still, but feeling much better than yesterday.

He knew that his lifestyle was very disastrous to his body. After Junsu moved in, his responsibility had decreased a little since now he didn’t need to prepare Na Young while entertaining and feeding Ta e Hyun at the same time. However it didn’t mean that he got more time to rest. Nowadays, his night was filled with plans on how to make Junsu felt better, his sleep was interrupted by the need to check upon Junsu and his days were filled with the nagging from Jaejoong who until now still insisted to visit and check upon Junsu every day.

Simply said, he felt so tired… and so stretched.

But well, he knew he deserved it. It was his fault anyway.

So after mentally preparing himself for another long day, he stood up and started his day.

His first task of the day was to prepare breakfast for the four of them, so his feet automatically directed him to the kitchen…

But as he passed the dining room, the sight of three sets of deliciously prepared porridge caught his attention.

Yoochun walked toward the dining table and confirmed his suspicion that yes, it was indeed Junsu’s specialty porridge. His heart beat faster as he wondered what had woken Junsu so early this morning? Was it another nightmare attack that he missed?

“I hope tea is okay with you,” A sound from his back startled him so much that he nearly broke his neck from turning his head so fast.

And there he was. Junsu with a light purple apron that Na Young (and him) had given the other man for a present last Christmas, looking absolutely adorable with his glasses perched on his nose and red shorts under the apron.

Dumbfounded, he could only nod and followed the sight of Junsu as he carefully poured him a cup of tea and put 2 cubes of sugar inside, still remembering Yoochun’s favorite. Yoochun stared at the cup of tea that Junsu extended to him, wondering whether this was a dream, since Junsu who he knew wouldn’t initiate such a contact himself.

“I know that you preferred coffee during breakfast,” Junsu continued his one sided conversation, ignoring his speechless husband. “But you already had too much coffee in your body, so you shouldn’t drink coffee anymore”. He grabbed Yoochun’s hand and put the glass carefully in his hand.

Yoochun stared at the warm cup in his hand, thinking that if Junsu was the one who made it for him, he would drink it gladly even if it was poison.

“Oh and I packed some lunch for you to bring to your office. I know that you always eat that unhealthy bread, so starting from today, I’m going to pack lunch for you…”

He still stood in shock even after Junsu’s voice trailed off and the other man had gone to wake Na Young up. Glancing at the neatly prepare bento boxes, he wondered what did he do yesterday to cause such a drastic change in his husband.

Not that he’s complaining of course.

A wide grin spread on his face as he quickly gulped down his tea, not caring when the hot liquid burnt his tongue. Eagerly he stepped into the bathroom to get ready for work, his whole body felt light as he was sure that today would be a great day for him.

That night, one could spot a Lexus driver grinning as he sped up his ride to reach his home. A big dolphin glass piece sat next to him in the passenger’s seat.

“I’m home!” Yoochun opened the white door with one hand cradling the glass piece. His day had been wondertastic so far. His grin absolutely couldn’t be wiped off, especially after he received Junsu’s message earlier that day, asking him whether he wanted a beef stew or a kimchi jiggae for dinner.

He was elated of course, but he still felt slightly apprehensive whether Junsu’s good mood was temporary or it would be permanent. He certainly wished for the latter to happen, but he knew that there was a limit to one’s luck, and Yoochun was afraid that his luck had ran dry.

That was what the dolphin glass piece was for. He figured that the gift would at least extend his husband’s good mood a little longer, because well, those small smiles and cute dimples were the one he was living for.

He caught Na Young with one hand as the 8-year old jumped on him as a welcome gesture and as usual started to blabber about his day. However, unlike the full attention as usual, Yoochun only paid half attention to his son’s rambling, his mind and body eager to see the person he wanted the most.

Slowly putting the glass piece on the table, he carried Na Young in his arms as he hurried to the kitchen, guessing that was where Junsu would be. And he was right.

Junsu was dressed in a similar attire as he was this morning, the light purple apron adorning his lean body and covering his torso. He was cooking beef stew as Yoochun had requested that afternoon, looking positively delectable as he swayed along to the music from the stereo.

Yoochun couldn’t believe that he was thinking about how gorgeous and… tempting Junsu was when all he supposed to think was how to earn Junsu’s forgiveness.

And that meant, no touching of Junsu unless he wanted to ruin every single effort he had put until then.

“Umma! Appa is back!”

Yoochun swallowed a sigh as Junsu turned at Na Young’s calls. He was only able to enjoy the sight of Junsu’s ample behind for a slight moment, and he wished that it wouldn’t be his last time.

Junsu shifted his attention away from the food on the stove at Na Young’s excited call and saw that Yoochun was finally back. ‘He looks so much better,’ he thought to himself as he saw the healthy pink color on Yoochun’s cheek. ‘Not as miserable as before,’

He drew a hesitant smile at Yoochun who returned it with a brilliant smile of his own. Blushing at the sudden happiness that the other man exuded from his small smile, he quickly turned back, pretending to concentrate on his cooking.

“Dinner will be ready in a few minutes,” He said as a means of greeting.

As Junsu smiled a bit bigger and said a “welcome home” to Yoochun, he might forgo in wishing for any birthday or Christmas present for that year. But for now, the sight of Junsu’s small smile was already enough to send him grinning.

“Okay. I, I’ll just set up the table then,” He stuttered and picked Na Young up to help him setting up the table.

That night, Junsu fell asleep with a smile while he stared at the new dolphin glass piece with his favorite music was playing from the music box.

And he didn’t get a nightmare that day.

One week later…

Na Young giggled as he witnessed his smart appa stumble upon his words like an idiot when he was talking to his umma just like the first time they met.

And he gave up to care when he saw his Yoochun-appa went back to his dreamy mode as soon as Junsu turned back to cut some fruit.

The 8-year old boy twisted his body to face his baby brother who was having the time of his life poking and talking to his oatmeal. “Hyunnie-ah, it seems that everything is going to be better soon! And we can be like before, don’t you agree?”

And Tae Hyun’s answer was to flick some of his oatmeal in Na Young’s face.

But I'm thinking of giving one day of relaxation for myself and just go to see him. Moreover, Junsu is going to perform! That will really be a chance in a lifetime. Even more since I'm a Junsu bias! now just hoping that the cost of going won't be too expensive... haish,,,
